Well, thank you to the Republicans! EVERY time a law is passed someone of us, sometimes ALL of us, lose a freedom we had. Many of these do not affect most of us but eve then they do in their own way. Laws never say what you CAN do, they say what you CAN'T do. Each law is another thing we CANNOT do.

I would like to see a cloture vote needed for all bills, I would like to see an opposition party (minority party) that challenges everything, and I do not care who is in control...they are all government pigs who want our money, blocking legislation keeps OUR money out of the pig trough. I am no more pleased to see Republican pigs eat my money as Democrat pigs.

So ,hurray for gridlock! Thanks for the graph, Steven, our government works best when it doesn't work.

You Libertarian knuckleheads ought to buy your own country where you can realize your pipe dream of what life would be like without a functioning government. May I suggest Haiti?

Why would they want to leave? They have what they want right here.

Even with an untouchable majority, the Dimocrats managed to screw the pooch, without the Republican'ts having, or being able, to lift a finger to do a thing about it. Priceless.

I think it was "Libertarian knuckleheads" that founded this country. They wanted the powers of the government defined and limited, but thanks to the FDRs and LBJs, we have the bloated thing we have now that wants to pass a law to cover ever freaking thing. So as I said before Gridlock is good.

Limited government in the context of a world full of absolute monarchies has a whole different meaning from obstructing the government from functioning in the 21st Century.

Sounds like the GOP deserved the win in that State.

So the Democrats have lost their super-majority, but as far as I see all they still have more of a majority than Bush did when he was doing whatever the hell he liked!

Perhaps they need to grow some balls and start making aggressive use of their majority - as Bush did.

Brown ran an unbelievable campaign. He had volunteers everywhere, day and night, rain, snow, below freezing temps and sunshine. I think Coakley took victory for granted. Brown pulled this one out in the last two weeks. It was like the boulder rolling down the mountain.

That's what the Democrats will have to do to pass Health Care reform, during Bush's tenure two controversial bills were passed in the Senate by a 51-50 vote, not exactly 60 votes + is it?
