You know that I believe this should have been the plan from Day 1. Obama should have had a plan of his own, ready to hit the ground with a "Pass this, or make me a 4-year lame duck" message to Congress as soon as he took office. The Dimocrats would not have dared to ####### on it they way they have the current proposals. It should have been a clean bill about healthcare reform, with none of the extra baggage. It would have been ineresting and may well have passed first time.

Now, it would be an exercise in futility. It stands no chance at all. I hope the Dimocrats know and understand the fustercluck they've managed to engineer, without the Republican'ts having the votes to do anything about it. Healthcare failure can only be attributed to the Dimocrats.

ACTUALLY YOU AND MC ARE WAY OFF.

Obama as I told you way back when "Votes present" he doesn't make bold moves he doesn't have too.

All this talk about "Obama should have done" this or that with healthcare is silly.

OBAMA DID NOTHING but take the seat of safety, he never endorsed any plan at all, he let the other do the work and after they took the lumps.... and if it makes it to his desk, his plan was to sign it.... thats it!

Let me say this as polite as I can, Obama is a puss.

Liberalism. Failure every time it is tried.

Sure was tried during the eight years of the Bush administration, now exactly sure how you tie liberalism or conservatism to any political party. But did hear some republicans state that they better return to being conservatives again if they want to be reelected. And the democrats are suppose to be war mongers, not republicans.

I really don't know how you can tell the difference.

If it's white, they're coming, if it's yellow they're going.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

For someone who portrays them self as so openminded and free of traditional moral restraint..... MC, you sure are hung-up on his photos from a few decades ago ....why is that?

I think you are torn between being hot for him and hating him.

Same #######, different party. Bush (and by extension the GOP) blatantly disregarded the wishes of the majority of Americans & his approval ratings ended up around 28%. Obama (and by extension the Democrats) tried to cram healthcare reform down the throat of Americans & it looks like that may very well fail. Mix in partisan BS & obvious attempts to facilitate failure (both parties are guilty of this) and what you end up with is a steaming pile of fecal matter.

Anyone that can't see that both parties are responsible for the current state of affairs is oblivious to reality.

To get anything done we now require 60 votes instead of a simple majority. Its much easier to get a majority to agree than a super majority, and it ends up giving to much power to too few people who will bend it to whatever political agenda they have.

Republicans have showed little interest in solving problems we have, just interested in obstructing any attempts by the Democrats to do so and the filibuster power that they are abusing, gives them way to much power.

 He doesn't come off as a nitwit (e.g. Palin) or a douchebag (take your pick). That puts Brown on the GOP short list for 2012.

Taking that high-road of name-calling which you repudiated in another thread eh?

Its very easy. I'll school you. When Republicans are conservative, they are successful.. When Republicans are liberal as they were between approx. 02 - 08 they get their little peepee slapped and the only alternative (democrat party) is put into power. Mainly because the conservative base stays home and sits it out. Democrats are always liberal, but sometimes run conservative campaigns (06 - 08).. Then later on they revert back to normal. Its populism. Just like now you have Evan Bayh, Jim Webb, and several others becoming populists. Webb was for the HCR whether he's considered moderate or not.

Yes both parties are responsible, but liberalism is the culprit. It transcends party line. You libs have a hard time differentiating liberal and democrat.

hey, you and steve sound alike! :)

he also complains about rules that have been there forever and have benefited both sides at various times, but he also wants them changed. i wonder if the rules were changed when the dems are in power would he (and you) want them changed back when the repubs gain power?

the super majority rule is for good reason and over time it works for you and against you, as it should, for that was the purpose.
