One thing I miss in this day and age is bands putting out an album every year. You look back at the sixties and seventies and even the biggest bands used to release an album every year...two at most. Nowadays it's more like every two or three years...often up to four or five. So when a band like Muse puts out an album that I think isn't as good as their others (though it's admittedly still growing on me...I found a whole new appreciation for "MK Ultra" when I listened to it again yesterday), you have to wait at least two years before they do another! Some people will make the "quality over quantity" argument, but I could make countless counter-examples of bands from earlier decades that had two exceptional albums in the span of a year or so. One of my faves, TV On The Radio had been faithfully adhering to an album every two years...but then they just announced they were taking a year-long hiatus. Same story with The New Pornographers -- they were doing an album every two years...and now it has been two and a half since their last one, and no word of another yet.

Oh well. At least you can set your watch to a Jack White or Josh Homme project. I have MUCH respect for both of them for keeping busy musically, even when it's not with their "main" bands.

Speaking of hiatus, break ups and make ups... Weezer. I freaking hate weezer.

Like how many times they say: "We're breaking up" and then go put another album out.

Ugh I had to sit through them once because they opened for the Pixies... I hated it. HATED IT.

I loved The Darkness. I was so sad when Justin left the band. I've heard grumblings about a reunite though. Who knows these days.

Yeah, I bought it when it first came out. Unfortunately, it has been packed away in a box for two months, so I haven't really had a chance to listen to it fully.

I get C - A - P - S - I - Z stuck in my head all the time though.

The score for Up IS really good though. It's more of a traditional soundtrack than the innovative one for Where The Wild Things Are, mind you.

I haven't seen UP yet but I wanted to soon. I'm sure the score was awesome. I just thought hey..come on...WTWTA sound track is a pretty cool, thing..but whatevs. awards are silly any ways. I wish I got paid millions of dollars and people gave me awards too. haha
