OMFG, of all the songs of theirs, you had to pick that one? That is the one that I hated by far the most. The one where they tried to act like they were toughguys, and one of them tried to even rap. FFS, i've got that chorus going in my head now. <_<

You've got the right stuff, baybeeehhh. :P

I mean, I'm pretty upset to admit this into public, but I really really really really love LFO.

It's pretty funny because when I was in high school I was one of those doom and gloom metal girls, but then I'd get home and hear LFO and burst out into song and dance, LOL.

I still believe their true potential hasn't been realized yet though. On their live HAARP album, there's this great jam at the end of "New Born" that goes in this very dark, innovative direction...and when I heard that for the first time I laughed giddily, hoping that they'd capitalize on that sound for their next album. Instead we get the (in my opinion) uneven effort that is The Resistance.

I disagree. I'm one of those nerdy music fans like Nevada where it's a big part of my life and I'm always listening to it..pretty much 24 hours a day...

I'm only 25...I've been listening to Muse since I was 15 years old because I was a huge Placebo fan and they kind of came hand in hand with liking Placebo.

Muse's best song - Plug in Baby

Muse's best album - either Origin of Symmetry or Showbiz.

But no one that likes them NOW seems to think that they played music 10 years ago!!! I haven't heard one effin person say, that likes them because theyve been on MTV now, a darn thing about anything post 2008 so it's getting me angry and I didn't even want to write this. hahahah

I think they reached their REAL potential 7 or 8 years ago...and now they've reached their "MTV/Mainstream/Stardom" now...

Blah. Okay. hahah I'm done now.

My IPod?

Tegan and Sara (of course)

Boys Night Out (living out my teen years again, I boys night album at a time :D )

Upupdowndownleftrightleftright B A start (now defunct nj band but AWESOME nonetheless)

Dipset

Jay-Z

Ghostface Killa

The Ataris

Athlete

Far

Brand New

Drake

Elizabeth & The Catapult

Shai Hulud

Bane

Mates of State

Modest Mouse

etc. :)

Yea hahaha Donnie did some beatboxing

LOVE IT!

I <3 Step by Step...we used to always do the "Step One (one, one....) You can have lots of fun..." part in highschool all the time for kicks. ahhh.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Oh, I really don't mean to knock Muse. Honestly, I'd consider them one of my five favorite bands right now. I've got all of their albums, and LIKE them all, at the very least...and LOVE Black Holes And Revelations and Absolution. I bought Origin Of Symmetry and Showbiz after I fell in love with BH&R, and I was shocked at just how good they were, even though they were barely in their twenties when Showbiz came out. Really, Showbiz is an incredibly accomplished debut for a young power trio. I first heard their music in 2002, and bought Absolution in 2004, so I definitely don't fall into the category of MTV catcher-on.

I stand by my assertion that their best is yet to come, though.

Whyatt, I know you are a true musique fan so I wasn't doggin' ya..I was more doggin all the serious HYPE I've been hearing lately about them like they are a new thing. I'm glad you bought Showbiz and Origins..both amazing..Showbiz is probably my fav...

Man..which reminds me...whatever happened to The Darkness? haha

Yeah, no worries. I think the recent Muse fan craze can be directly linked to the inclusion of their songs in the two Twilight movies. I hate hype in general, but hype about music especially...because it becomes more about "being cool for liking such-and-such band" as opposed to seriously loving their music.

I didn't like Origin Of Symmetry very much when I first bought it, but it has grown on me a LOT. "New Born", "Citizen Erased", "Hyper-Music" and "Feeling Good" are among my favorite songs by them now. I've even fallen in love with "Micro Cuts" which I used to always skip over when I first bought the disc. Indeed, that song could have been done by The Darkness...

Showbiz gives me this amazing feeling when I hear it..Matt Bellamy is supposedly kind of a jerkoff, but the way the music flows on that album pulls at my body..I just feel like I'm right there with him...They don't have outstanding lyrics or anything like that,...like some other musicians have...it's just the way the music pulls you in and out..it kind of is like a muscle spasm in a way.

I didn't even realize their songs were in twilight movies...I guess that's part of where the hype is coming from! I'm all about a band getting $$$ and getting kudos where kudos is due...but I really dislike it when the media acts like a band like Muse didn't put out an album in 1999.

One thing I miss in this day and age is bands putting out an album every year. You look back at the sixties and seventies and even the biggest bands used to release an album every year...two at most. Nowadays it's more like every two or three years...often up to four or five. So when a band like Muse puts out an album that I think isn't as good as their others (though it's admittedly still growing on me...I found a whole new appreciation for "MK Ultra" when I listened to it again yesterday), you have to wait at least two years before they do another! Some people will make the "quality over quantity" argument, but I could make countless counter-examples of bands from earlier decades that had two exceptional albums in the span of a year or so. One of my faves, TV On The Radio had been faithfully adhering to an album every two years...but then they just announced they were taking a year-long hiatus. Same story with The New Pornographers -- they were doing an album every two years...and now it has been two and a half since their last one, and no word of another yet.

Oh well. At least you can set your watch to a Jack White or Josh Homme project. I have MUCH respect for both of them for keeping busy musically, even when it's not with their "main" bands.

- Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! No album from last year grew on me more than It's Blitz! did. I seriously DID NOT LIKE it when it first came out. It was only toward the end of last year when I realized that I'd used almost all of the songs from that album on mix CDs... :P
