Hoyer: If Brown wins, we'll rubber-stamp the Senate bill and have it on Obama's desk within days

Should Republican Scott Brown win Tuesday's Senate race in Massachusetts and break the Democrats' supermajority in the Senate, Congressional Dems could pass a final health care reform bill before Brown is seated, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told reporters at his weekly press briefing Tuesday.

And if that means the House has to rubber-stamp the weaker reform bill that came out of the Senate, he said, "the Senate bill clearly is better than nothing."

He is failing to take into account the affect the loss of the Mass. Senate seat to a Republican will have on the Democrats in the house that have to stand for election. The house passed their own version of the bill, after much change and buy outs, by THREE votes. One of the people voting for it has since resigned and has not been replaced. If TWO out of 220 change their vote (including one of the Mass. house Democrats) then the bill is DOA.

Stand with my previous prediciton. Brown will win. Maybe by more than 8 points but i will stick with that and health care as currently written is DOA. Time to start over.

Late today on wide speculation that Brown will win and Health care will be run over by the bus, the stock market rallied 100 points. It is widely predicted in Brown does win, tomorrow will be the biggest day the stock market has seen in years...400 points or more. So then the Dems in the House will just a bucket of cold water on that nad hope to be re-elected in 10 months?

Healthcare has already lost. What we have left is payoffs, mandates, and a mess of regulations that will be tied up in the courts for years. Of course, none of the benefits will begin until 2013, but the 26 new taxes on the middle class go into effect this year. We are so lucky the Democrats will win this round.
