Hey Everyone!

I have applied for a CR-1 visa for my husband (He is Indian)..

The NVC received my DS-230 and documents on Jan 8th. I had sent a request to expedite the process due to personal reasons.

They approved the request on Jan 15th.

I called the NVC today (the 19th), and they said they would send the file to the Mumbai consulate within 48 hours.

Since the NVC didn't review the documents and just sent them over, the US Consulate will look over them and also make the interview appointment.

(I just hope all the documents necessary are there, because if not, we might not find out until the interview day!)

Has anyone been through the process this way?

Does the Consulate email, mail, or call the beneficiary to inform them of the next steps?

How much time does it take for the consulate to make the appt?

My husband would need some sort of letter to get his medical and PCC...

Any replies would be helpful!

i am getting so frustrated with this "expedited" process!!

i filed CR-1... and now that the file is at the consulate, they keep saying they haven't recieved the package 3!

the nvc is the one that sent all the ds-230 and other things... and if they haven't processed it yet, its okay...

but i have no idea what the next step is...

do i need to fill out a ds-2001 just to get an appointment scheduled since its at the consulate now instead of the NVC??

:( :( when will he be able to come?!?!
