Hi everybody.

I recently got married to a US citizen, and we have already for AOS. I am currently on a student visa, and my stay is going to expire soon because I already graduated. I want to take my husbands last name, but I am not sure whether I can do it now since the petition has been filed with my maiden name. If so, how does it work? I am also worried that my name will not be changed on my passport. I am a citizen of Bulgaria. Should I wait until I get my green card or is there anyway I can do it now so my green card will have my new name on it? It will probably be a while before I get it because we only files less than a month ago and I haven't got a EAD yet, neither have my biometrics appointment scheduled, and this is starting to worry me because it has been 20 days since they received the applications. I am also being questioned by his family about why haven't I changed my name yet and it is getting on my nerves. Anyways. Has anyone had similar experience, and how did it turn out for you.

04/24/2010 Card received after all the trouble!

01/03/2012 Filed I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence

01/11/2012 Received Notice of Action Dated 01/06/2012
