passport with visa wait times question.

okay, so my fiance had her interview on the 12th of january 2010 in manila. after her question/answer session with the interviewer, the interviewer said "welcome to the united states". my fiance then went to pay for her air21 mailing service for her passport. her mailing address is in antipolo, which is still NCR. how long should it take for her to get her passport back?

also....if for some reason she was denied her k1 visa, would she have gotten this far in the process, or would the embassy just have given her back her passport while at the embassy?

the reason why i ask this is because i don't see how the US embassy has the right to hold the passport of a foreigner, keeping him/her from travelling outside of their home country.

If you are the USC, I suggest calling the DOS Hotline, Get a Human, and inquire about case status.

Also, doesn't air21 use tracking numbers? Did she get the tracking number? Can she track the package?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

The visa will be placed on one of the pages of the applicant's passport. That's the reason why the Embassy has kept the passport and didn't give it back to her immediately after the interview.

She has apparently passed the interview.

Just be patient.

As to when she will receive her visa, there's no telling right now.

It may be that the Embassy has been printing so many visas at this period.

Some receive their visa 2-3 weeks after the interview.

Stay calm and wait for the great news from Air21.

She passed otherwise no Air21.... We interviewed in Manila (August) and received Air21 visa/passport delivery on Wednesday (In metro Manila)...

Air21 sent text message on Tuesday stating they would deliver on Wednesday.

So, basically the delivery depends mostly on when the Passport/Visa is available to Air21. I think should be less then 7 days in Metro Manila.

Just enjoy looking around for possible flight schedules and let her spend a little bit more time with her family and friends because once she leaves the Philippines, it may take some time before she can visit our native land again.

Someone on the thread I started reminded me Monday was a national holiday and the embassy was likely closed that day.

they take your passport at your medical then goes to embassy then after your interview you get it back right away if you do not pass for visa,if you pass for your K1 she will get the visa stamped in it and then air v21 will deliver it to her address she gave them after her interview she can call air 21 and they will know if they have it yet and your tracking number,it can take 3 days up to a couple weeks depending where she is getting it delivered to,she obviously passed !!!
