Hello guys,

I talked to a friend of mine and told her that my k-1 petition was approved. She told me that when his fiancee got the approved k-1 petition letter, he immediately call the embassy to make an appointment for her interview. Was that possible even if i don't have the packet yet since i have the case number from the NVC?

Thank you! :)

Also, the person must have the medical prior to the interview and there's still additional paperwork that needs to be completed for the interview at the Embassy and fees paid.

Yes, its possible. Just call the manila embassy to make an appointment, i experience that b4, i wait for nothing in two weeks waiting for that packet. So i decided to tell my husband to call the embassy. when he called he got my appointment date for my interview. Im pretty sure u already have your NVC case number since NVC aprroved your papers already b4 they sent it to Manila embassy.

hope it help..

Mc and R.kid

If you don't have the NVC case number that starts with MNL, the Embassy won't entertain your call. They'd tell you the "I'm sorry..." script.

As you know, from the USCIS after the NOA2, your case moves to the NVC where it will be given the MNL case number. From the NVC, the case goes to the U.S. Embassy in Manila. Once you have the NVC letter, go to St. Luke's for a walk-in medical exam. Bring your NOA2, NVC letter, four 2x2 pics, medical exam fee of $ 213.35, and passport (anyone may add more info to this in case I have forgotten something).

You won't receive the so-called packet from the Embassy but a letter of eligibility to schedule the interview. You don't have to wait for that. Three to five days after your case arrives in Manila, call daily until you get to set the interview.

Here are the documents you have to prepare for the interview:

That's exactly what I meant. If she doesn't have the NVC case number, the Embassy would keep mum. Of course, that goes the other way around. If she has the case number, she could call. I don't see any difference about what you said from what I have written.

Thanks Arbind.Ariadne.. :) Did you already file for AOS?

You are welcome.

My husband and I sent the AOS package on Thursday last week. I tried to pretend it was easy preparing the complete bunch of documents and forms but it took us weeks. Finding the right civil surgeon wasn't that easy either.

Anyway, it's really good to see old familiar faces around. I remember some of those who used to post here almost daily when I was just starting my K1 last year.
