What happens after the Spouse enter the US on CR1

Hello,

My wife got her CR1 visa on Nov 15, 2009 (Mumbai, India) and she came to USA on Jan 6'th, 2010. I want to know when does she receive her Green Card from the Dept of Homeland Security and also the Social Security Card (In the Visa application we checked the option to get her Social Security card as part of the CR1 visa) ?

The greencard can take 4-6 weeks or even 2 months. The SSN should be received within about 14 days. If she doesn't get it then go to your local SSA office.

Recently, I've been seeing 2 weeks for the SS card and 3 weeks for the green card but it DOES vary.
