Hi! How's everyone?

I want to report my marriage in PI Consulate

and renew/amend my passport at the same time.

Do I have to appear for the passport renewal/amendment?

I am living here in Texas and the consulate is in LA, California.

I tried calling the PI Consulate this morning but I couldn't get hold of

anybody. 'Need to get these done before April 1.

Thank you for your replies.

Sincerely,

Mharms

Yes to your question. You have to go to LA, California.

You will see all the requirments when you click on the "forms" tab. The list is quite long for report of marriage.

Arizona filipinos are fortunate. The consulate normally do outreach program here.

If you got married outside of the state where you currently reside, you have to send the Report of Marriage form to the consulate that has jurisdiction over the place of your marriage. Passport applications should be sent to the consulate that has jurisdiction over the state where you reside.

Example:

My husband and I got married in Las Vegas, Nevada so we have to file our Report of Marriage with the Philippine Consulate General, Los Angeles.

We live in Michigan though so I'll have to get my passport renewed at the Consulate in Chicago because it has jurisdiction over Michigan.

(This is what I understand from the requirements listed at the consulates' websites. If anyone has more info on this, please confirm. Anyway, if you got married and are living in the same state, it wouldn't be a problem ;) )

I guess if you are far from the Philippine consulate you can mail-in your application. The reason why I said this is because I applied my new passport by mail last August 2009 and got a New machine readable passport by September although their site already said it should be by personal appearance. To make sure you contact them first
