Choice of Agent

Many members are having success in emailing the NVC to choose their agent in place of sending in the DS-3032. They usually send a confirmation email within a couple of days. If not you will need to call to confirm that it has been accepted.

Clever! Can anyone point me to the thread that discusses how VJers figured out this shortcut? I'd like to try it, but would like more background info first.

Thanks,

J.

I can't point you to it but I remember someone who hadn't received the form by snail mail sent an email with the info and it was accepted. Lots of people have sent the info successfully; I can't recall reading about anyone having probems.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

The link to the thread where this example email originated is no longer active. It was in the archived threads (the old site) which became unstable. It was simply a case of a few members doing such and others following suit. I have not noted anyones email for 'Choice of Agent' not being accepted. It seems that the DS-3032 is not as important a form as other forms are during this process as even faxed or scanned copies emailed from the petitioner to the foreign spouse are acceptable. On the instructions for the DS-3032 it states that if the foreign spouse fails to recieve their copy, that the petitioner may fax or email their copy to the them. Emailing direct to the NVC has been an extension of this and from experiences is acceptable.

NVC is very flexible about the choice of agent. The beneficiary should email the NVC. One important thing: The beneficiary should mention that he/she has not received the DS 3032. This is what my wife emailed NVC. Make sure, when you email NVC, always put the case number on the subject line. Another important thing is: The beneficiary must email about the choice of agent ONLY AFTER the Choice of agent form (DS 3032) is generated along with AOS Fee Bill. They both are generated on the same day.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is ******* ***** ****. My date of birth is ***** **** ***. The case number assigned by the NVC is: *** **********.

My husband told me that you mailed me the DS 3032 form (for selecting my choice of agent) by mail. But I have not received the mail yet. I want to appoint my husband, the petitioner as my choice of agent. All future correspondence from NVC should be sent to his US address. His name and address are below:

Name: ************** (Date of Birth: ***********)

Address: **********

I am copying this email to my husband. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,
