Just wondered how one gets 675 bucks plus the expenses for those long trips if unemployed, or even eat. Was unexpectedly unemployed once, with three kids, a home mortgage, loans on two cars, and a boat, so quit getting loans and started saving in the bank to pay cash after that. Then kept a reserve, ex got a big hunk of that, and the problem with having a reserve, somebody is always trying to get their hands on it. It's a problem either way. It's nice having a wife that also experienced this and likes having a reserve as well.

Did buy some stocks to buy a new car, and will, if I can find one half the price, that is where my stocks are now.

NickD-Since you asked...here is my answer to the $675 (US Citizenship) and $545 (Removal of Conditions) question....

The truth is, I couldn't afford it, but I had no other choice, and I couldn't wait any longer to apply for such, as for the I-751 there were deadlines and the N-400 there was no guarantee that the fees would not be higher in the future. I had/have no income as a stay-at-home mom/homemaker and my husband's income was limited, and even explained such to immigration, along with provding them a note saying that I had to borrow the money for such purposes. It doesn't help either, that I have a baby, a mortgage, and other household expenses, which were already budgeted, and I don't like spending more than I have. I was using money that I didn't have and couldn't spend, and I couldn't get a bank loan for such (lol..too bad banks don't offer loans for "immigration purposes". So I had no other choice than to "beg and borrow" the funds for such, with some relatives that I had. Bad idea though, as now I'm still stuck with the bill, and on top of that, I get constant harassment as to "So, when you are going to pay me back", "You still owe me the interest", and that type of #######. :crying:

I don't know what is worse....Dealing with the USCIS or having to deal with the "USCIS debt" afterwards....

And now, even though my journey is over, I'm $1200+ in debt still....I'm paying it off a bit at a time, but at this rate, I'll still be in debt for a long time...

Ant (Journey is over, but the debt still continues....)
