Include Birth Certificate for joint sponsor?

On the I-485 packet do i include the joint sponsors birth certificate as well as mine and my husbands or just me and the joint sponsor since i already included my husbands in the i-130 packet?

I believe all sponsors need to show their status in the US, whether a US citizen or LPR. A birth certificate would be a good way to do this

You shold include your husband's bc too in I-485 packet, along with yors and the joint sponsor's.

The I-485 instructions do request the beneficiary's birth certificate. They do NOT request the USC petitioner's birth certificate, because USCIS will already have that (from the I-129 or I-130) in your file. The I-864 instructions request "proof of citizenship" for any joint sponsor. We sent a photocopy of the bio page of a US passport, but the instructions say that a copy of a birth certificate will work as well.

We did not send the my wife's (the USC petitioner) birth certificate with the I-485, and were approved with no problems. However, we had already sent hers with our I-129 fiance petition months earlier. I imagine the I-130 petition requires the USC's birth certificate, and it should of course be included in that part of your packet.

You need a copy of the cosponsors birth cert or passport info page to show the cosponsor is a legal citizen...

On a side note, it is always best, when preparing a packet of multiple forms to send to USCIS, to make sure that each form is a complete and separate unit in your packet, and that each form-unit includes all of the evidence and documentation requested by the instructions for that form. The reason for this is that frequently, concurrently filed forms get split up and adjudicated separately, even being sent to different service centers in different states.

As an example, my AOS packet contained an I-485, an I-765, and an I-131. The I-485 got sent to the California Service Center, but the EAD and AP applications got processed in Missouri. That is why I made sure that each form had it's own copy of my I-94, visa, birth certificate, passport photos or whatnot. If each form requests a copy of your I-94 in it's instructions, send 3 copies of the I-94. Don't count on the service centers to spit up your package and do photocopying for you to make sure each form-unit has all of it's required documentation. It's in our best interests to make their jobs as easy as possible, and that means organizing our packets for easy splitting.
