hi I need 2 affidavits from someone saying that they know my husband and I are married for my removal of conditions. I don't know how you do that, is there a special form or something? Or special instructions? I can't seem to find any, maybe I'm looking in the wrong area.

Any advice appreciated!

You do not NEED two affidavits.... many including my wife were approved without. The affidavits can be used if you lack sufficient other evidence of a bonafide marriage relationship

YMMV

There is an example in the guides above....

Nothing special. (either sworn or affirmed)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Thanks, I looked at the examples and they are helpful but I was wondering who they are to be sworn in front of or if they have to be notarized or something like that, or is it enough for people to just write them?

Sworn = "notarized" by a Public Notary

Affirmed = "statement stating that you affirm the letter to be true" (no need for notary)

They have to be one or the other :)

You reeeeeeaaaaly don't need any of those. If you are still married and living together, your ROC will be approved, whether or not you have 0 or 100 affidavits added to your application.

However, if your marriage is a sham, entered only in order to gain immigration benefits, and you have nothing or almost nothing that would show that you guys are a "real" couple, affidavits are essential, indeed.

Only you know which scenario applies to your case, so best of luck to you.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Well thank you everyone. I thought I needed them because it was on the form that's all, so I thought I would send one or two to save any problems. Haha Just Bob, our marriage is real, we have an almost 2 year old daughter!

Best evidence there is. So don't waste time or effort on affidavits. In cases like yours the ROC is merely a quick signoff.

Why take the chance of not sending them in. Have a couple of friends or family members write a paragragh or two attesting to

the legitimacy of your marriage. Go to your bank and get them notorized then submit with the rest of your evidence.

It won't be very time consuming and the more evidence that you have the better.

Just my 2 pennies though.
