Hello all my friends!!!

Just a little update...My hubby missed his connecting flight from cairo to new york!!! Talk about being majorly p'od!!! He was on egyptair from luxor to cairo, got in at 6:52am, they took their time getting him through security and got to the gate 15 minutes before the plane was suppose to leave and they wouldn't let him on the plane!!!

What BS!!!

I talked to an egyptair ticket agent and they said they couldn't get him on a flight until Tuesday!!! #######????

Anyways I went ahead and got him a flight with Delta and my honey is in the air now!!!!! He should be here by Sunday am usa time!!!!

What a freakin trip!!!! Where's the tylenol?????

Now I am fighting with Egyptair AND expedia for a refund!!!!

Don't use any of them~~ BEWARE!!!!!

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry you guys are going through this. Wow, talk about just adding it on and on. Thanks for posting the update though because I have been wondering how you guys were doing so it's nice to hear from you. I don't know if this will help, but it is actually policy, regardless of airline, to not let someone on the plane for an international flight if they are not in the gate by a certain time. I can't remember but it's like 60 minutes before or close to it. It has to do with security and checks, etc. and is part of our post-9/11 world. Something similar happened last summer on my way home from Morocco. My flight out of Casablanca was something like 3.5 hours late leaving and by the time we got to Amsterdam some of our connecting flights were still there but they would not even direct us to the gate because it was after the cutoff time. With no flights after leaving for the US that day, we all had to stay overnight in the airport. In total, it took 48 hours for me to get home. This year as I'm starting to scout out the flights I am making sure there is much more time between connections for the international to/from US legs of the journey because, let's face it, what airline is on time anymore? I'd still see if you can get a refund because that Tuesday thing is just soooo long...except does it have to do with the volcano?

Either way, try to focus on the positives here. He's on his way and it's only a few hours now. Just be happy and enjoy the time. Don't let the frustrations of travel ruin it. Lord knows you guys have been through enough and you deserve to have a FABULOUS reunion. To heck with what happened before. I'm still soooo excited for you and can't wait to hear the happy news!

Well i agree with Vanessa .They changed the rules .Maybe before 9/11 they would let you in 15 or even 10 minutes before the take off .But they don't allow that anymore .You should be in an hour at least before the take off .And i guess Sameh was kinda late .We can say he was there at almost 7 AM .And Egyptair take off at 9:20 AM.So it took them maybe 2 hours to be done with security and checks ......

I wish him a smooth trip and insha'Allah he will have a nice trip this time .

they are not going to refund you UNLESS when you cancel before the flight date , that's logic andrea :S

he should have booked the next day flight from the airport when he was there and he would have pay the fine 100$ , i did that with my wife last year as we arrived 30 min before the flight take off .

anyway you should try with them at least to keep the ticket to use it someday next year or so , i hope that will work isA

OMG, Andrea!!!! What a pain!! I am glad to finally see in your profile page that HE IS HOME!! I hope he had easy flights from Cairo to NY and from NY to Orlando!

We had a similar situation when John booked my flight. He booked it the same day over the phone (British Airways). I was supposed to fly from Cairo to London at 8:40 am and have a 1-hour layover in Lodon then catch a flight from London to Miami..what happened is the flight from Cairo to London got delayed for 4 hours and the next flight from London to Miami was the next day! They only let us know that 15 minutes after the ticket was purchased :angry: and the ticket was for 1900 USD!! I ended up having a 20-hour layover in London, that I spent in a hotel of course. John emailed and called British Airways many times for a refund for part of the money, since we basically were tricked but they did not respond or give a steady answer...I don't expect they will respond. Next time we are not flying with British Airways.

I am glad you are done with the visa part and he's home now! I wish you and Sameh a long happy life together!

I noticed that when your U-S Spouse call DOS for inquiry of ur visa when ur case is in AP and after your spous give them Visa case number if DOS operator make your spouse wait/hold after having the case number then theres some update on your case they tell ur spouse theres some update and if they dont tell ur spouse about the update then after some days they will send you email or call if they need something from you.

Same happend with my wife when she called DOS in january 2010 to inquire about status they made her wait like 10 minutes after she gave them case number ISL2009xxxxxx and operator asked my wife to call them next coming friday and we waited my wife called them again on friday and DOS operator said embassy been trying to call your husband in which they wanted his(my) siblings names, ( but i did receive no call from embassy ) so we emails them the information.

and after that we been calling DOS to inquire they only gave answer pending AP and cut the phone call fast. they always did say pending ap everytime my wife called them.

and again in month of march my wife called them DOS made her wait and my wife was online chatting with me and she said shes on hold i asked her if they asked u the case number she said yes they making me wait so i knew there was some update on the case. my wife was told pending AP that day but after like 3 or 4 days i received a phone call from embassy in which they wanted my phone numbers.

So guys when ur us spouse call DOS and if they make her/him wait after ISL number is given then theres surety that theres some update on the case. and if no update they would just tell pending AP but if theres some update they would check ur file deeply and it will take time so they will make ur us spouse wait on phone.

Please everyone pray for me that i get out of this AP soon this AP is so much bad and it has been more than 7 months i am in AP.

I have been on the phone expedia everyday now. They said that we should get a partial refund back from the ticket.

Disc, I would have let him book the next day flight and pay the $100 fine, but they said they only had an available flight 5 days after his original flight. Why pay for a hotel room for 5 days? So I went ahead and booked him a flight the next day on Delta. Egyptair sucks period. LOL

With all the delays with the volcanic ash shutting down europe, I have been on hold up to almost 3 hours with expedia trying to deal with egyptair. It's past the money now, it's just them proving that they were wrong.

Sadly bro still no visa for me .

I was so sick i almost had a heart attack '' anxiety attack '' .I was in very strong and very very sharp pain'' Almost passed out '' .I had to do ECG and Echo and they were good .And my Dr wants me to do ECG effort which I'm going to do it on Sunday .

I'm going though all of that damn ###### cause of the embassy .

Don't worry bro i will not disappear when i will get that damn visa .I will be around still LOL .

I was so sick i almost had a heart attack '' anxiety attack '' .I was in very strong and very very sharp pain'' Almost passed out '' .I had to do ECG and Echo and they were good .And my Dr wants me to do ECG effort which I'm going to do it on Sunday .

I'm going though all of that damn ###### cause of the embassy .

Don't worry bro i will not disappear when i will get that damn visa .I will be around still LOL .

Its sad to hear about ur situation hot guy. u know i also had a heart attack and been in hospital for 5 days and when i had pain i was feeling pain in my head and my vein there was fast and then i started pain in my chest and i was fell down un-councious and i also did vomiting my brother took me to hospital and there they found out that i had heart attack i did not knew it untill they sent to hospital ward for heart patients because i could not imagine that i can have heart attack on young age 28 years.

Hot Guy i hope u receive ur visa so soon brother its been a long time for u that ur waiting in AP. it will be 8th months to me in some more days and still waiting when ur in AP for long time u ask some question and mostly people does not reply lol when i write something in the posts people does not reply i think they are bored and hot guy brother u have had seen many hard days during last year , u was on another website where there is Raven u used to ask questions and and he replied u and one day he got fed up of that and called u names i felt so bad for u that day, and from that day i have not even talked to Raven because he himself is an idiot.

And good news has to be coming soon...it just has to. Where will you move to when you go to the US?

We're rounding the corner at 4 1/2 months now of AP. And in 3 weeks I'll be leaving my husband in France to fend for himself until the visa comes. I have a lot to do at home (in New Jersey) and we just bought a house that I have to move into by myself. We're hoping the best of hopes that he can come home with me, and experience the move and the new place together, but I don't have high hopes that it will come in time.
