Well yeah maybe i feel kinda good now .But i could be better that's for sure .It has been almost a year for me and still no visa .Sometimes i ask my self what the heck is going on ? why the heck its taking all that long ? I never ever thought that it will take that long .Unfortunately i can not speed up that process .So i hope that they will be done with that soon .

Disconnect and Khadijah I hope that we all will hear good news this month .

Thx Moh and Sandra for your support. I wish us all luck that are still waiting. sorry i havent been around much but been fighting major depression. Still hangin in there though

Things are going ok, it just takes forever to get stuff done. After the weekend is over we should have a better idea of where we are. My husband went to pick up the translations of the military and the lady wasnt finished yet and said she would be tomorrow. I did ask about getting permission from the military in leaving the country and he said he asked about it and knows what to do with that. Im really hopeing by the end of next week his papers will be in the mail to me. Im not trying to push him, I know he wants to come but he has lots to do since he has been tied to the military for the last 2 years. I hope on the 20th you will get your good news.

And to the others as well another day closer to victory.

by the way , i was late for almost one month because of the translation of the military certificate as the girl was telling me not ready yet not ready yet and later on i found out that they don't need the translation of the military AT ALL , and i wa so angry because of that timei wasted .

who told you that they need the translation ?? they will not need it at all ;)

salamz,

i guess its my turn to start with the paper game that yall seem to be having so much fun with. lol i honestly have no idea where to start cause i never really thought i would be doing this. id really appreciate any information you could share. :D

so yeah, i guess i should introdue myself first. :) my name is khadijah and im an american lady who went to egypt in 2002 for higra. while there i married mohammed and had a beautiful son named idrees. we divorced in 2007 although im not sure that is totally legal or finalised. i stayed there until 2008 when i escaped back to the states. since some months we have been talking about a possible reconciliation for the sake of our son. now the problem comes of getting him here since it is not possible for me to live there.

i have a ton of questions ranging from the legality of my divorce, the whole visa process, the likelihood of his approval and how to make his transition smoother than mine was. wallah this whole thing is making me so much nervous and even yet i didn't start. :(

wish you all have a wonderful day!

welcome khadijah to our club and i am sure we will not save an effort to help you :)

first of all you should know that you will have to remarry first to this man before you can start the journey , and that you were married to him before will not make any difference .

so what you should do now is to come to egypt and do your marriage again .

be sure that they will know you are divorced as they can contact any egyptian authorities so easily , so when you are divorced then they will know that you are divorced and any kind of hiding this from them will blow up the whole journey for you.

i hope what came to my mind was not the same of what you were thinking of lol , good luck and we are here to reply all your questions :)

i guess you should wait until the end of march and if the same reply exist then you can contact your congressman to make an inquire for you to find out what takes too long , but hopefully this review will be done sooner than end of march .

i think this is kind of consulate AP to check your documents and records in egypt before the AP in US. just be patient until the end of march and you will see what's going on :)

haha actually no its probably not the same that you were thinking. one of my neighbors there said that my divorce was done in the 'dirty way' whatever that means. i was told that in order to make it official i would have to go do some more work. my husband has told me on numerous occasions in an effort to win me back that he would have to go downtown and file a paper to return me. honestly, i dont know and it surely is something im going to have to figure out so i know what visa to apply for. lol

so i been reading and apparently, i dont make enough to cover the requirements for the affidavit of support. my mom's retirment benifits also fall a tad short. would i be able to sign over my apartment in giza to my mom so that it would then count as her assets? i do realise i would have to take the marekt value convert it to dollars and then divide by 5 to get its value for the AOS. would my husband's property count for anything in the joint sponsor situation?

does the ins give out free samples of tylenol with their paperwork? loooool

Welcome to the club .I hope that we all will get our visas this month .

Well it seems like the embassy contacted you somehow to ask you for some additional documents '' I guess they asked you for some proof of ongoing relationship '' .When they say pending CO review it means that the CO is reviewing your case to make sure that everything is in order before they issue your visa .And i guess they are reviewing your proof of ongoing relationship that you sent them lately.

Good luck and my best wishes for ya .

haha actually no its probably not the same that you were thinking. one of my neighbors there said that my divorce was done in the 'dirty way' whatever that means. i was told that in order to make it official i would have to go do some more work. my husband has told me on numerous occasions in an effort to win me back that he would have to go downtown and file a paper to return me. honestly, i dont know and it surely is something im going to have to figure out so i know what visa to apply for. lol

so i been reading and apparently, i dont make enough to cover the requirements for the affidavit of support. my mom's retirment benifits also fall a tad short. would i be able to sign over my apartment in giza to my mom so that it would then count as her assets? i do realise i would have to take the marekt value convert it to dollars and then divide by 5 to get its value for the AOS. would my husband's property count for anything in the joint sponsor situation?

does the ins give out free samples of tylenol with their paperwork? loooool

i don't think the assets will help in that as long as they are not liquid money in some bank account , and of all the joint sponsor issues i was going through with the consulate , i can tell that they will only accept a JOINT SPONSOR so you still have time to find someone to sponsor your husband if your income is not adequate .

divide by 5 to get its value for the AOS

for husband it will be 3 times the diiference not 5 times

good luck :)
