I believe I once read that all AP is done in DC. I also wonder if the Haiti law is affecting immigration world wide. I haven't heard from my Congressman since 1/11 and the last time DHL updated was 1/4. There is another holiday at the Embassy next Tuesday for Police Day after two holidays this month already? What next Roller Skate Day? LOL!

For some reason I had read that some AP is checks that the consular officer is doing in Egypt and some of them are results from checks they requested from DC. Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not?? The last time DHL updated for us was also 1/4 which is strange since it usually gets updated every week or two weeks max. The holiday for the embassy is actually on Monday and my husband told me that most people dont even get off of work for that day, but the embassy loves taking off any holiday possible. I feel you on the roller skating day because I feel that every week they are taking off at least one day minimum. When will all of this end for all of us??? I am keeping everyone waiting on a visa or interview in my prayers. ISA this month or next will bring good news to everyone!!

Maybe so. I know they do home visits out of the Cairo Embassy sometimes and that may be part of the AP there. Anyone else besides Nancy and I also updated by DHL on 1/4? I agree it is strange to have such a long delay for a DHL update unless it's all these holidays and Haiti happenings. I hope this will all end soon for all of us too.

I hope u doing good and all is well with u i do remember your case was pretty much smiliar to my case cause they requested from u co-sponsor . i want u to be a ware of this point final review sounds promising could take 1 to 5 months before the consular completes all the action on your case

i waited 3 months .during this period all the e-mails which i got had only one response final review good luck dude

oh yes i know man , we were talking about our cases together one month ago but you know i sent them the documents that they need on november the 3rd so almost 3 months now , let's hope i will be lucky like you and get it within days

thx aya for the good hint let's hope that's the situation for me and for all of us and we will get our visas during the few coming days ....but what really makes me feel weired is your case as you are female and your name checks if they are working on it now would absolutely show that you are clear and your name couldn't ever hit with a name on their black lists , i just think they are being lazy and that's why you are waiting for a month to get your vsa ... best of luck and i am keeping you all in my prayers .

It isnt encouraging but unfortunately it seems to be very true . We have been in final review since Nov 16th. On the day he had his interview which was Nov 9th he was told that he would have his visa in hand before the end of November. Here it is almost end of January and it seems that there is no hope for even a visa this month. I have been wondering if the new law that got passed allowing illegal Haitians to get temporary protection and visas will somehow impact the number of visas that are given worldwide?? Hot guy, I think you will be getting your visa in a few weeks max and definitely not months. Also I wanted to ask, when I call DOS and ask for an update would it possible to ask if the AP is internal or in DC or would they not answer something like that? By the way this is my favorite topic to get on and read!!!

nancy , don't feel diasspointed because we are on the final step now so no matter how long time will they take to issue the visa but they will at last . i don't think that haiti guys has anything to do with us because we don't follow the number of visas which are available during the year , that might affect the lottery visa but not us and i am sure of that .

i don't really trust DOS because they always say the same old information and no specific thing they can tell more than : oh well consulate has more information that us . but you still can call them anyways and hopefully you will get some good information from them .

oh yeah my DHL is still on 4th of january too . i don't know why do we create a link between haiti and our visas?

Well I saw in the news while I was in Egypt that they are putting visas on hold because of the Nigerian underwear bomber but I dont how true it is. About the Haiti thing it was just a theory that we were thinking might affect visas worldwide, but if you think it wont that is wonderful. Well I have a feeling that most people who had cases from 2009 will be hearing good news soon because im sure the embassy wants to get the online applications into full swing and the people who filed through the mail out of their way isa. Thats what I am hoping anyway. Aya, my friend who is a female just went to her interview on December 10th and she also still hasnt received her visa yet, but im sure you will be getting it very soon isa.

Yeah when you call DOS you can them if its name check or if the embassy doing their own verifications ?!

BTW guys the DHL updates it does not mean anything at all .

So whenever it was the last time they update the site it does not mean anything .My last update i guess was in Nov.

Well at some point it does not matter if the beneficiaries is a female or a male .

I guess when it comes to American national security it does not matter if you are a female or a male '' a female can be a terrorist still '' so they still will check on females too not just on males .

If the delay is for name checks I'm not worried... I know that they should be done with it very soon...

Olivia and Nancy, our DHL status gets updated very frequently too.. It says: 'Scheduled for delivery as agreed'.. A DHL representative told me it's doesn't mean anything at all.. They are just updating their system..

The embassy hasn't replied our email yet.. John will try to get any answers from DOS some time today.. Let's hope we have any news to share with you by the end of the day!

Still there is no email from the consulate. i think gender doesnt matter, so far i see aya and I are females, specialy young females and we are all on the same page. I beleive soon they will send all the visas that is why they are not replying. On the other hand the visas that they are putting on hold are visitors visa not immigrant visa. immigrant visas already have intense process that it has to go through from the homland security to NVC to Embasy to AP process. we all see the light under the tunell and soon we will have answer insha allah. be patient.
