Hello everyone. Aya I really like what you wrote in defense of the people that have received their visas and might not get on as often afterwards. It was kind of hurtful to see a few of you posting saying that people disappear because it made me feel gulty, but honestly it has been a very busy time since he got here, but I definitely have not forgotten anyone. I know that I have not been on in a few days, but I am definitely not going anywhere. My husband made it here on Thursday, Feb 11th safe and sound alhamdullah. His POE was Memphis, TN and it was super fast and smooth and not many questions were asked. Now the next step will be the adjustment of status and I already have so many questions about it that I will definitely be asking on the next few months.

Any updates for anyone waiting??

Also Happy Presidents Day!!!!!!

Congratulations Nancy on your husband arrival .Glad to hear that everything went good and smooth for him .

Don't feel guilty you did not do anything wrong .And for sure you need your time with your husband and we totally understand that you were busy .

Don't misunderstand me or disconnection or even Khadijah i guess we were talking about a different kinda of people .we were not talking about you or about anyone else on that thread .

Still no new news for me .I hope that i will hear good news soon cause I'm really sick of waiting .

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Welcome news members swahby25 & Khadijah1!

In my observations I've seen that it is the natural course for members to retreat for awhile at first when they obtain the visa in hand in order to be with their loved ones when they come and help them to adjust to their new life. What Jackie says is also true in that members take breaks and members come back for AOS and lifting conditions. Some members post every few months and others every few years. And in a few cases some request to close their accounts to never return only to return later under new or not so new profiles, known or wishing to remain unknown. These are some of the cycles of VJ.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day Cairo Final Review Club! May we all be reunited with our Valentine's.

valentine12.jpg

My Husband has finalized his last day at the Hurghada Clinic to be Feb. 23rd. Then he will pack all his belongings up to be done with it there and arrive in Cairo on the 26th where he will go to buy his tickets. He said he went to Egypt Air in Hurghada and he doesn't understand how they make money there because it was a scandal the prices the agents were trying to give him when he'd already seen online for himself the prices before going there. He doesn't have credit cards or debit cards so he's going to pay with cash to a travel agent in Cairo. I suppose that he believes he will get a better price with them then in a resort town. I am still waiting till he buys the ticket. He's also talking about coming March 25th or 26th now after I mentioned he could take till the end of the month because I know there are many official papers he needs to bring with him and get official translations for. In-addition to what is needed for AOS he also needs to bring official paper work for the USMLE steps. I hope that he can get good prices waiting till the end of Feb being so close to March, the month of Spring break for schools around the world. He's been watching ticket prices for months and they haven't changed much but wish him luck for me anyways. He also says it depends on the timing of the paperwork that he needs to bring and their processing there which I hope doesn't take much time. He has lots of errands to do to prepare for coming here. He said Valentine's Day will be the last holiday we will miss together and I told him if he comes the last week of March then he will be missing St. Patrick's Day as well. lol Anyways. If the tickets do spike and he doesn't buy because of Spring Break prices then he may have to wait till April. Spring is a nice time to come with the weather and flowers here and Easter. I just hope I don't have to keep waiting for him much longer. If he waits too long then the ticket prices really will go up for the summer travelers and some of you know that those prices can be astronomical.

My baby niece, Piper, should be born any day here. She was due Feb. 9th so she is over due now. It is my Sister-in-laws first baby and the family here is on Baby Watch 2010. I'm waiting for the call when they go to the hospital so I can go over to their house and watch their dog while they're gone. I told them if they need anything when the new baby comes to call me and they asked me to watch their dog. lol. I also meant like doing laundry, cooking, walking the dog, cleaning, watching the baby if they need some time out. We got them a new washing machine since their old one was not running all the cycles and we're nearly finished decorating the nursery. They had this baby blanket with simple birds in baby colors blue, pink, yellow, green. My Mom painted the baby room to match with birds on a tree limb, and a dresser with little birds painted on the knobs, and all that is left is to make the curtains from the same material. They even put in a cute little chandelier for her room. It is my older brothers first baby and his wife turn 35 last Sept so they waited a long time for this. My Sister-in-law, Ghada, in Baltimore calls me a lot to check on the baby watch status and it's fun to talk with my two little nieces. Arwa was having some anxieties about how she was going to communicate with her classmates. They said they like snow but not that much. They got 4 feet and school and observation rounds were cancelled. They were also anxious for her brothers visa and pending arrival and are very happy for the news that he's coming in March. They wish to see him at first but he says it sounds like she is so busy with her school and rounds schedule.

For ash Wednesday through palm Sunday I am giving up, or "taking a break from," the internet those 40 days. That means looking for jobs the old fashioned way with a newspaper classified section and word of mouth. All the internet jobs I've found online have not panned out so far. It also means I'll have to look at a paper map or ask someone for directions in person instead of using Map Quest. I feel like with the internet I've gotten so disconnected from people around me and human interaction that it's become a form of social isolation even though I am connected with many people online each day. I don't like how dependent I've become on the internet these last 6 years. This lifestyle is addicting and I've gotten so out of shape. I'll have my phone and SMS messaging with Hubby. We've got all our information that we need off the internet for our next steps and he's got the links and lists and now just has to run the errands to get what he needs there before leaving. I've got several books I want to read, and some new yoga tapes and mats to try out. I've about got the new area I live in around me figured out and I'm going to try some walking routes with the better weather to get my fitness back. Plus I'm going to try vitamin therapy for my low energy and this new vegetarian and vegetable juice diet with this group here that some of my family want to join too. Then there is the new baby coming and being busy with her as an Aunt! I'm excited for that. My Mom mentioned that Piper is going to have an Egyptian Uncle! I said the her that she's going to be a Grandma and she's having two new people come into her life too; Piper & my Husband. It's good timing to try this no internet thing too because we aren't going to need to be online as much anymore when he's here. Maybe to his family and friend back home but not with each other because we'll be in person finally. Plus he's going through the process of saying his goodbyes to everyone there and getting ready to move over seas and I need to get ready for him here and reconnect with my local community. So if you all don't see me until March 29th or a bit longer, because by then I hope he'll have arrived here, then at least you'll all know why.

I hope that all those who are still waiting are reunited soon with their loved ones. I know this waiting and not knowing is dreadful. (L)

Ihab and Nancy, congratulations again and I wish you guys (have/have had)very happy reunions with your loved ones!! (F)

Khadija, Welcome to the club! I really felt your pain through your words...feel free to vent any time! We're here to share, care, and help one another through the long process that doesn't only stop at the visa stage.. If you ever need to talk, drop me a PM! :)(F)

Disconnection, I hope you hear good news very soon!! I don't think it's a good idea to close the club/the thread after all the early club members get their visas... As you said this club has been a good omen, a thread of support, and pages of useful; information for many, and it should continue to be like that for others to come...

Also, don't be discouraged by the fact that some people don't post as often when they get their visas, you don't know the exact reasons that prevent them from posting and being around... It should be about doing a good deed (helping others), more than it should be about anything else... I know the waiting is hard and the process is frustrating and continuous support means much, but be sure that many appreciate the support you and many of this thread had given to others... Again thanks for starting this thread! And let's see if you'll still stick around after you get your visa! :P

Aya, thank you very much for your kind words, thank you also for the voice of wisdom, that was very mature of you. you are right we do't know how pepole feel or waht they are going through, also some people would leave after they get the info they need, but also others that stay, and the people that for a while, you never know what is going on with their life, anyway, thank you again Aya, and Nancy glad your husband made it just fine :)

Hot Guy,

Not sure if i'm one of those you are talking about, but I have answered your questions when you ask me, as you have answered mine. I'm waiting for A.O.S. right now and i'm at a different level than most are in this process. I will answer any question asked if asked directly.

As i've told you many times.. our Visa went smooth, BUT I visited 4 times and spent over 7 months in ,08 with Mohammed. I think that spoke for it's self. . As I told you, Mohammed had never left Egypt, had no police record, his father had only been outside Egypt once.

As I told you, my Senators office said, they even check EVERY place your father has visited and you told me yours had many trips outside Egypt. Also, if you and your SO hasn't seen each other in years.. i'd see this as a red flag if I was a CO. I personally think the answer to a speedy visa is time spent together with your loved one. I remember this being said to me when I first started my journey here on VJ. I wish you well as I do all the others, but no matter in the end none of us on VJ can answer questions for a CO and AP. :)

Hi Jolie

How are ya ? I hope that everything is going ok with ya .

I really don't know what do you mean by that ? Do you mean that as much as you visit your SO as fast as you will get your visa ?! Well not really i have seen so many people just met one time in real and they got their visas pretty fast after their interviews .so sometimes it does not matter if you met your SO 1 or 10 times before the interview it depends on the CO !

Well yeah my father has been outta Egypt many time but if they check on where he went i really doubt it .They will allow me not my father it does not make sense for me .

Talking about that me and my fiancee did not see each others in long time yeah i agree with you its kinda a red flag .in fact i knew it before our interview .but me and my fiancee rather to save money as much as we can cause we have many things to pay for like our wedding,honeymoon....... i thought the CO at the embassy will understand that and they will like it .but i guess the CO does not like that and that's why they delay us and that's why they gave us all of that problems.I even told the CO that at the interview which one is better spend 3000 dollars or more in 2 weeks or save that kinda money for our wedding and complete our paperwork our be broke after i move to USA ?!

Good to see you posting again and i wish you the best on the rest of your journey .

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

lmaorotff i sent the embassy a email a week ago and finlly got my answer today .heres the content of my email then their answeI am writing this letter to ask why nothing has been done on my fiances visa case since September 2009? We were asked to submit proof of ongoing relationship in September 2009 and we promptly returned requested materials. The materials requested were received by the Embassy on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 09:01 am. It will be a year this month February 2010 since we filed, and his visa was approved in July 13th 2009. I have written numerous emails to inquire and I call the DOS at least once a week. I feel our case is being neglected and I want a name and number there at the consulate of someone in charge I may speak with in the visa unit. The DOS claims it is their desire families be together as soon as possible and we haven't even been given the chance to start ours.PLEASE do something and stop neglecting our case so we can be together and get married.Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated as we have been patient and waited a very long time.

Thank You, Kelly R Smith

Dear Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail message.

Jeane and Jax I know that you both have been here on VJ for long time .

Khadijah was talking about that kinda people who will talk to you every single day .to ask you questions about that process .How to do this and that ?....and once they got their visas they gone .i really had bad experience with that .so many people on here was using me to get some answers for their questions and once they got their visas never heard from them anymore !

I'm not talking about all the people on here .there are so many good people that's for sure and as i said I'm still in touch with many of them even after they got their visas and even after they moved to USA or after their spouses moved to USA.

Sorry peeps but i was talking about exactly what moh says here. didnt mean to make anyone feel guilty or anything and wasnt refering to those in this thread at all as you all seem to be very close and care so much for each other.i can tell you this though....i wont disappear but it may be some timme before you hear from me when hosam gets here FYI i will be busy enjoying a looooooong honeymoon lol

their reply makes me feel like we are dealing with a POKER FACE guys LOL , no matter what you say and no matter what message you will try to deliver , their reply will still the same official , cold and non of sence reply .

i advice you sister to send them on official ways and try not to tell them that you miss your fiancee as in fact they don't care .

guys , let me remind you all that they are working with papers and documents while we work with our hearts and our great love and they will never feel what we feel , and furthermore they will never become emotional towards our good mails which are full of good wishes .

let's play it on their way , DOCUMENTS AND LAW .

now on our club list of waiting the visa there are :

1- cairo

2- Hot Guy

3- disconnection

4- khadeja

anyone else ??

i wish AT LEAST one of us will have the visa in hand before february ends . AMEN

lmaorotff i sent the embassy a email a week ago and finlly got my answer today .heres the content of my email then their answeI am writing this letter to ask why nothing has been done on my fiances visa case since September 2009?

Please note that the case is still pending mandatory administrative processing.

Well sister believe it or not that kinda Email did not surprise me at all .

I remember that long tie ago i sent them a similar Email and i really was so mad and mean .I was like i'm sick of what you doing ....no one can handle that .....we are adults and we can handle the truth just tell us are you going to give us that visa or not .....will we be under that CO mercy forever ......

Before i sent them that Email i told my fiancee the embassy will give us the same answer '' the case is pending AP '' my fiancee was like no way they should say something different Espc after they read what i said in that Email !

3 Days later i got an Email from the embassy .guess what ?!! they said '' the case is pending AP '':rofl::rofl:

My thoughts to you sister ask Hossam to call them .they might give him new info .at least they might say to him if that kinda AP in Egypt or in USA .When they started that AP ........

I hope that we all will hear good news soon .
