Ok so I have my package ready for the Removal of Conditions.

Just wanted to hear your input if I forgot something:

-got the Form filled in I-751

-Copy of "old" Greencard

-Proof of relationship which includes:

-Joint house we have together

-Joint house payments

-Creditcard

-Proof of joint bank account

-Joint insurance cards

and some pictures from the last 2 years ( I am sending in like 4 or 5 from dif. time periods within the last 2 years).

-Payment for the USCIS.

I am not going to get a statement from friends really, you guys think I have enough evidence though?

How important is a cover letter?

Please let me know what you guys think.

Thank you so much!!!

You're missing the copies of your driver's licenses,

tax returns,

if you received any greeting cards from family/friends to both of you.

If you work and your spouse is on your beneficiary lists for 401k, insurance coverage... you can include that too.

If any of you went to the doctor and received a statement/bill from insurance showing same address you can include it as well.

Any subscription to magazines for either of you or bills on which one or both of you are named as owners of the bill.

My husband's drivers licence still has his old address on it should I still copy it?? I just copied mine

Can't he change the address to the current one?

Well it would take like forever to do that as the old one is still valid for another 2 years. Should I just leave it out?

If you're in the same state all they do is put a sticker with the new address on the back of it.

I guess you could send it along without it if you have other proof of the same address for both of you.

Driver's license is not important. Get the tax returns included or you will get an RFE. Do you have affidavits? Also, a cover letter is nice to inform them how your package is arranged. Keep it short and simple (not extremely important though to include it). Car insurance, health insurance, and all other types of insurances (if available).

Your package looks good just make sure the tax returns are included. Also, make sure all pages of your tax returns are included and not the first page only.

We just sent ours in as well. We didn't copy our driver's licenses' though. (To change address on one in our state you just write in the new one on the back)...We sent in copies of:

Old greencard

rental agreements

insurance policies

joint bank account statements

our phone bill (that is the only bill that has both our names listed)

pictures

our car registration with both our names listed as owners

tax returns (we file online so we only sent the first pages and confirmation page after it was filed)

direct deposit information showing our money goes into one account

We did not submit letters either, but I'm pretty confident we have enough proof of relationship. I wouldn't worry about it because it seems your have some major evidence that shows you are together. For example, you have a house together! That in itself means a lot. Many people (like us) do not have a house together.

I noticed someone mentioned sending in all pages of the taxes you filed, but we always file online and I always did in the past. That last time we had to send tax returns all we sent in was the first page and the confirmation page showing it had been e-filed. They never sent us an RFE or anything, so I assumed it was fine....However, now I'm a bit worried... We will all cross our fingers!!

As for the cover letter - Honestly, we never sent in a cover letter for anything we sent in and we never had any issues. I don't think it makes much of a difference.

Why would it take forever? In fact, he is obligated to change it if he changed the address.

This is true. He's supposed to do it within 10 days of moving and can receive a traffic ticket for not having changed his address.

Is a copy of driver's license required? I don't remember reading it as a required supporting doc or evidence to provide. I would be really concerned providing too much un-required personal information for identity theft. Would you guys really trust people working there including the admin people who open envelopes and make copies of your doc? (or is it just me trying to be extra careful with people you can not see what they are doing and you don't know who these people?)

These people already know everything about you - they have your greencard and access to the file where you've already filled out plenty of personal info :) You think they can't look other details up if they 'need to'? They are obligated to sign something probably when they start work that has to do with confidentiality. I work in IT for a company and I have to sign something since I have access to the HR systems and potentially look up everything about anyone any time I feel like it.

Anyway - the driver's license is a great example of gov't issued id which has your address...why not send it? We sent both of ours since it's another example of us at the same address
