Question about Birth Certificate

Hello!

My Husband got his certified Birth Certificate and there is a miss spelling of his father's name on it... instead of Bijender they put Bizender as his father's first name... My husband is very aggervated that I have requested him to go back to the office and get them to correct it, he seems to think that it will be ok, since that is the only mistake on his Birth Certificate.... I have already sent this BC with the I-130 and I-129f petitions... should we worry about it now and get it changed... will changing it mess everything up... is this something that I would recieve an RFE for.. and if I did wouldnt they just wanted the corrected BC?

Are you asking how to deal with your husbands aggravation or whether the birth certificate needs to be correct? Consistency between the petition information and the documents presented at interview is quite important but not absolutely critical when it comes to spelling parents' names.

Just have him get the corrected birth certificate, and I don't think its too much too worry about. If they question this at the consulate just have the corrected one available and explain to the officer what happened. Also, just make sure you have a copy of it just in case. So, far from what I have seen with RFE's on VJ getting an RFE for something like this has not been very common. You will be ok, but just get the corrected one just in case so you are all prepared.

thanks for the response I know how to deal with my hubby just a little and he is good to go... it was more the USCIS giving me a RFE when they caught that his name on the G-325a is different than on Amits Birth Certificate, and then again the new Birth Certificate would be different than the original one we sent in, so when it comes time to mail the other packets I thought they might notice the corrected BC and give me a RFE..... I will just stop thinking.... thanks again
