smaller boat's fault - larger vessel has right of way and the smaller vessel sped up just before collision.

Watch the video again, dude. It appears the Japanese whaling ship set on a collision course with the bat boat.

Plus, it's not about any right of way under the hostile conditions that these two vessels are engaged in. Its a war they are fighting, and the Sea Shepard crew was simply betting that the Japanese would abide by the international treaties of boating. Clearly in this case, they did not. It's an interesting program when its on. I don't know if there is a new show season in the works. I do respect what they are doing. They are almost doing the job of website moderator in the frozen seas of the South Pole, trying to keep the Japanese honest in their "research" whaling. Except they literally put their life on the line every time they challenge the illegal whalers.

Allocation of fault is pointless. The Southern Ocean is a very big patch of water. If either vessel had any intention of avoiding a confrontation, there were many alternatives to this result.

The main lesson for the next time is the the Sea Shepherds need to make the collision count. One lesson they can learn from the Japanese this time around.

it's mentioned because you can bet someone is gonna say the japanese did that intentionally. probably why the smaller vessel suddenly accelerated into their path.

RESEARCH MY AZZ, it is about exploitation, and millions of dollars or yen!!!!!!!

... and the Japanese fondness for whale meat and other whale products.

They need to stop, or be stopped, and soon, otherwise the whaling ban will collapse completely. Already, Norway is looking to find a way to recommence whaling (they have been for a while).

If the commercial whaling ban collapses, the resulting bloodbath will be nothing short of a tragedy. :(

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself
