Memphis AOS Interview Experience

Well our interview was at 11.00am and we arrived in plenty of time. Once inside we had to sit and wait for our turn for about 45 mins, then a man came out and called us in. He then directed us to his office where he promptly told us to raise our right hand and swore us in. To say the whole experience was not a pleasant one would be an understatement. The man who was interviewing us never once looked at us and never once smiled, he just sat at his desk looking through our file and typing on his PC and in a very grumpy voice asking us for the following documents in turn, passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, driving licences, EAD, telephone bills, 2005 tax returns and asked Karen if she had ever been to England. He never once looked up at us while talking to us and asked for all those documents while sitting there with the copies of the documents sat in front of him. It was as if he was trying to trip us up all the time. Then while typing on his PC again without look at us he just said your Green Card would arrive in the mail in about a month. Then he just said that was it and i held my hand out shook his and said thank you and we left. We should have come out of there elated but we both left there very deflated.

Although the outcome was a happy one the whole thing was a bit depressing.

Now that we have finally reached this point I would like to thank all those people on visa journey who have been so friendly and helpful during our journey and wish all those with this to come good luck

Congrats !! It's not the best experience, but at least you got approved !

We certainly don't want to appear unappreciative because in the end it was approved . Just not a pleasant experience.

Congrats on the successful interview. Too bad it wasn't a bit more pleasant. Ours weren't that bad, although nothing I'd write home about!!!!!

Congrats and it's over. Ours was very stressful in May too. Although our immigration officer looked at us and interacted maybe way too much which scared the ^%#& out of me.
