Hi everyone, can someone shed some light on my case (to be)?

I am about to file an I-130 petition for my Canadian wife and 2 children (5&8 years old).

What is the approximate processing time? I am a LPR currently residing in the US.

I've heard horror stories about wait times, is there any way to expedite this process? I need help, advice and guidance.

Thank You,

The horror stories are true, but the wait times aren't as bad as they used to be. You may also want to look into "V-type non-immigrant visas" for bringing in your wife and kids without having to wait for CIS to approve your i-130 petition. Your kids come with the mother because they're < 21.

The sooner you file, the lesses the wait time. Good luck!

How long do you have until you apply and get US citizenship? Right now they are doing interviews for spouse/child of LPR who applied in March 2006. So waiting time is from 4-5 years.

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies, I have to wait 1.5 years to apply for citizenship.

Another question, can my children enter (fly) to the US with me for a vacation?
