Discrepancy in location of birth

Hi I am a U.S. citizen who is filing for AOS for my spouse. We recently married. My spouse is from India. All the paperwork is pretty much complete. We ran into one problem when I was about to translate her birth certificate from Punjabi to English. Her Birth Certificate has her location of birth as one city and the passport has a city of birth as a different nearby city. Is it safe to submit with this discrepancy so can anything be done. Any place I can call for questions? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

For ANY question on ANY form that asks for her PLACE OF BIRTH...simply give the correct answer. The other document is in error...not your fault. YOUR paperwork needs to be accurate, if someone messed up on the passport (I suspect it is the passport) then it is someone else's typo, not yours.
