It says: There are 2 types of processing, Standard & Appointment Post. Most countries are Appointment Post, whereas some (such as China) are Standard.

How do i know wether it will be standard processing or appointment post for mexico?

chely728,

You will need to give us more information. Will what be standard processing or appointment post? What type of visa are you applying for? Help us by providing us with enough information so that we can help you with the right advice.

Ok - found the link - it is here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut in LingChe NVC shortCuts

You will find this thread of interest: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=151439

Appointment post means that NVC makes the appointment and sets the date and it looks like Ciudad Juarez is by appointment set by the NVC. I think the terms appointment post and standard processing are now obsolete and the shortcuts haven't been updated yet to reflect the change.

Here is the link to the Consulate: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/ If you look under immigrant visas you will find a lot of useful information including the list of documents you will require and an overview of the process involved.

Hope this helps. If there is other information that relates to this I am sure other VJ members will let you know. I am also moving this from the CR-1 forum to the Consulate and Embassy forums as it relates to their area of involvement and you are more likely to get additional responses there.

Good luck.

Guangzhou still is a standard processing post. However, Guangzhou and Montreal are part of the NVC beta program for electronic processing. I'm sure on Montreal but for Guangzhou, those who opt in for electronic processing through NVC, do have appointments set by NVC and are notified by NVC. I know of two cases that were NVC complete in December with interviews in January and one complete this week with an interview February 8. Standard processing through GUZ would expect 3 or 4 months from NVC out to Interview instead of the 3 or 4 weeks these cases saw.

If Montreal is the same, opting in for electronic processing will speed the interview significantly.

Not sure if there are other standard processing posts besides Guangzhou but even they appear to be in a conversion process.
