need a lil help in regards to thr I-131

Timeline

Hello all my fiancee was grated her K1 she is living with me right now and i will be sending in my application for AOS in a about a month along with the I 485 i will be sending in the I-765( Employment Authorization)

now here is my question once she gets granted here green card and is a resident of the US will she be able to travel out of the country??

or do i aslo need to submit the I-131 along with my initial packet in order for her to be able to travel?

she is not planning on travel outside of the US until she recieves her green card

Consulate : Costa Rica

I-129F Sent : 2009-02-25

I-129F NOA1 : 2009-02-27

Touched: 2009-03-05

NOA2(s) : 2009/07/30

NVC Received: 2009/08/03

Departed NVC 2009/08/05

Consulate Received 2009/08/07

Interview Date 2009/10/08 Visa granted...:)

She may travel outside the U.S. once the greencard arrives. The I-131 is just submitted for "emergency travel" in case she'd have to leave the country before the greencard is produced. Anyone may correct that if erroneous.

Have a great wedding and do the AOS successfully.

You are welcome.

Start gathering all the documents for the AOS.

My husband and I had quite a time preparing everything before we finally submitted it all.

Look for your NOA2 and make a copy of it. Bring the DS-3025 to the best civil surgeon.

Timeline

Since there is no additional charge to file for the travel document, I would go ahead and do it. You never know when a situation will come up and you need to travel. It isn't complicated to complete, and then you will be covered should the need arise. If you want to file later, you will pay an additional fee. The green card could take awhile to get here, so we went ahead and filed with our AOS paperwork just in case. Good luck to you in your journey!
