Girsl, another question: did everybody pay already the US$ 100.00 Citibank fee for the Interview? My friend works at Caixa Econômica Federal and she says monday night there's gonna be an ''Assembléia'' to decide if the banks will start a strike and if they do they'll start next tuesday. Anybody heard anything about it?

At least here in Vitória the banks are gonna stop working on Tuesday.... and they have no idea when they'll open again. We have till Monday to do whatever we have to do, but I'm not sure the Citybank is part of the Brazilian Bank Association... they probably are!

yeah my friend said it's in entire Brazil not only Curitiba, fuc*, sorry. But that's what I was thinking, that Citibank wasn't part of the banks closing, like CEF, Banco do Brasil, etc. I guess I better go pay this monday just to be sure. Blah!

What do we need to bring to the bank?

Only the $100 fee?

Also, do we pay in US$ ?

To pay for your fee you just take your passport to a citibank agency and you pay the fee in reais. They use the dollar rate for the day but it usually remains the same for several days, just bring enough to pay like 2,50 for each dollar. 300 reais will be enough to pay for the fee.

Make sure the person at the cashier writes your name and passport number in the back of the fee, and DON`T rip the two pieces of paper appart or the consulate will make you pay another fee.
