My finacee got her Cenomar and NBI clearance in Dec 09. She was to interview on Jan 14th,2010 but had to do the Sputum test at St. Lukes thus delaying the interivew.

We are now waitng the result of the culture which will be ready March 11th, If she pass's and is reschelduled for interview will the Cenomar and NBI clearance she received in Dec 09 still be valid or does she need to get new ones around March.

I prefer not to have anymore setbacks if she clears this next hurdle. Please advise!!

No she don't have to get a new one because the NBI has 1 year validity and CENOMAR has no validity period.

Precisely. It's just the police clearance that is valid for six months. The NBI clearance is renewable annually.

I hope you get out from the mire.

Ok, Thanks for the information, Now when you say Police clearance is good for only 6 months are you referring to if some one needed Japan police clearance. That it is only 6 months?

I was referring to the police clearance issued in the Philippines.

No need to fret if a Japanese police clearance is involved in this case. It seems to be valid for 12 months unlike the police clearance in the Philippines.

Ok, Does she need the Philippine police clearance also even if she has the NBI. I am sorta confused now coz most post I have read states only NBI and police clreance is not needed for the NBI is national which covers local police clearance.

Thanks for the info on the Japan police clearance, She just recieved this on Jan 6th.

Truth be told, I took it by heart the requirement "police clearance from all places lived since 16 years old."

I did get a local police clearance in Cebu although I lived in the same place since I was 14 until I left the Philippines.

During the pre-screening in the Embassy, the guy asked me, "Have you lived outside the Philippines before?"

When I told him no, he didn't ask for a police clearance. In short, my local police clearance was utterly useless.

Thanks for the quick reply, Ok. I have understood that the NBI being national covers the local police clearance also. I will not worry about this anymore, Thanks for all your help!

I suggest that your fiancee gets a local police clearance aside from what she has from Japan. Don't risk anything.

Here are some threads that you can read because as far as I know, the two clearances are not the same.

ok here's what i think about the police clearance if you never left the philippines. if she has lived somewhere else, aside from the city where she is living now, after she turned 16, even if she never left the philippines, she needs a police clearance. for example, at 18, she lived in Cebu. but now, she lives in Manila. then she needs to get a police clearance in Cebu. that is just what i understood from the instructions tho. i could be wrong. ^_^
