This should be obvious, but I cannot find any information on what the A Number is or where it is located on our documentation.

So what is a person's A Number?

Where is it located? (What letter, etc...)

What is it used for?

How important is it to have this for our visa interview?

Thanx so much

Pam

If the beneficiary has never applied for another visa then they probably won't have an A#. In this case, just put 'NONE' in the appropriate space. Once the I-129F petition is approved, they should be assigned an A# and it will be on the NOA2 above the beneficiary's name.

So what is a person's A Number?

Alien registration number. It is assigned to all immigrants, those on Working Visa's and J-2 visas.

Where is it located? (What letter, etc...)

On the NOA but not always. There was not one on mine. Other then that, on entry to the US one is assigned an A number.

What is it used for?

To keep track of aliens in the US.

How important is it to have this for our visa interview?

I wouldnt be worried about it. They know it.

You can find me on FBI
