Writing name & A# on I-751 evidence

Hi everyone!

We're going to mail our packet tomorrow and I reread the I-751 instructions to see if writing my name and A# on each piece of paper is a good idea - it isn't mentioned anywhere. As I recall we were specifically told to do so when submitting the paperwork required for the I-130. I'm also wondering about stapling as opposed to using paper clips.

Did anyone do this or not do this? Any help would be appreciated!

That is great insurance in the instance where your file would be spilled on the floor or pages comingled with other papers.

Is it required, no. Is it another layer of security/peace of mind, yes.

I recall some VJ'ers making a sheet of mini labels and sticking them on each page rather than hand writing.

Labels sound great, never thought of that.

We punched the top of all pages with 2-hole punch and put everything into one of those ACCO fastener files and sent it off.

I wrote my name and A# on the top of every single sheet and document for the exact same reason stated above - if they dropped my file and pages fell out, they would always be able to match them back up with the rest of my file. I've seen too many cases on VJ where USCIS has 'lost' important documents and requested them to be refiled. I also provided them with an itemized list of every document that I included - as extra precaution so they couldn't say they didn't have it. The labels do sound like a good way to do it, though.

Wish I would have thought of the labels....

We just put a sheet in front of each of the different types of evidence labeling what it was and the A#...
