Hi there,

So, the documents have been sent to the consulate by my fiance and its been about a week now and we are waiting for their decision. It may be too soon for me to get worried right now, as we submitted everything on the 221g plus additional documents. I have been emailing the consulate and I am the pettioner, and my fiance will be calling them as well. They have been responsive to my emails, but I want to know who will they notify about their decision my fiance (beneficiary) or me (petitioner). Does the consulate give you an answer whatever it maybe, or is DOS the best person to call? I have called DOS, but been on hold for awhile so did not get through. Also, since I was super busy at work could not keep up the hold time. For those of you who had the petitions sent back to USCIS even after you submitted the documents on the 221g how long did they take to make a decision and was DOS the one that informed you or the consulate? This whole process is just so painful. Any advice is appreciated greatly. Thanks again!

The Consulate first communicates with the visa applicant. (Beneficiary) They will also communicate with the Petitioner on request.
