Hello,

I am reviewing the requirements for the I-134, since we have our NOA2 approval. I have a question in regards to the financial documents. This section in particular:

The sponsor must submit in duplicate evidence of income

and resources, as appropriate:

A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial

institution where you have deposits, giving the

following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

3. Present balance.

B. Statement of your employer on business stationery,

showing:

1. Date and nature of employment;

2. Salary paid;

3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

I called my bank and they stated that they do not offer documentation with these items. Only that i should print my statements from the last year and send them to my fiancee. Should i do this?

Also, i called my legal office about the Date/Nature, Salary, and Status document. They again stated that they do not offer that type of documentation. I am military, and my pay stub actually gives all of this information. Would this be suffice for what they are looking for? What should i send with the I-134 in this regards? Thanks

Is your income enough to satisfy the 100% poverty level requirements?

If so - yo do not need a letter from the bank. (that is used if you are using assets).

You can request a proof of service letter from your admin department to comply with B.

(also send most recent years tax transcript)

(moving to Embassy from K-1 - more related)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I do make far over the poverty line. Which I believe it was $14,500 for 2 people in 2009. I will ask about the proof of service. Thanks!

It's $14,570 since you're active military. For everyone else, it's $18,212.

Ignore the instructions that come with the form. Those instructions were written by the Department of Homeland Security. The consulate is Department of State, and they can make any rules they want for the I-134. Each consulate will usually have their own specific instructions for the I-134. You should follow the instructions from the consulate:

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

The embassy in Manila wants a copy of your tax return (1040) and wage statements (W2) with the I-134. Employment letters and bank statements are not required, but you can include them if you want to.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

We are using the Canadian Vancouver consulate. Thanks though :)
