Hi,

I filled my I 485 in NOvember.

Had received RFE to submit initial evidence. I was asked to resubmit medical form eventhough I had already submitted it and to submit tax return for the joint sponser. I responded to RFE on 12/28 via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

It says delivered on 12/30 at the USPS website.

The USCIS website still has not updated stating they have received response to my RFE and case processing resumed.

Really worried. I don't want to have to submit MEdical for the third time. Callled 800 number they said to wait 60 days. But I am very worried. Please help. If anyone in similar situation???

USCIS website updating isn't known for speedy updates.

Did you send in the W-2 for the tax return you sent?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Yes, I did..And I got the complete medical form filled out and sent both the medical and my tax return....I would just feel very emberrased to go to the civil surgeon to ask him to give me another copy of my medical to resubmit the application. Should I resubmit the RFE again or should I wait???

Don't send them something if they do not ask for it.

You can always attempt to call them to see what the status is.

We called them yesterday and the answer was to wait for 60 days before calling. I can't wait for 60 days. Than my time to submit the RFE would expire.

Thanks

You have evidence you sent the RFE evidence? Like a signed receipt?

They give themselves 60 days to consider the evidence (request), but they seem to act on it before that time is up.

I've read cases where USCIS never updated the case status after recieving the RFE. Those people got their interview letter while having the online status "request for initial evidence sent". And it's a number of cases. Sometimes they update it a few weeks after receiving the evidence. Try not to worry, this is not an unusual situation. I especially wouldn't worry since the delivery of your package was confirmed. Good luck, you will be just fine!

I got my RFE on the 22nd of December and I replied on the 4th of January. On the 7th had my biometrics and my case status finally changed to RFE sent on the 22nd!!! The day after it changed to RFE reply received so the case status is a little slow.

Give it time. At least a week or so.

Don't hold your breath, because (from what evidence I've seen) the website updates are dependent on some physical person

in their office keying in the update, as opposed to their database containing your status doing the update in a robotic way.

That's the only possible explanation.
