Don't marry a Filipina or an American or an Irish or a Kenyan. Marry the woman you're in love with. Marry the woman that matches your goals, your ideals, your faith, your morals, your retirement plans, your ideas for size of family desired, your ideas of ideal financial success level.... etc. MOST OF ALL marry the woman who makes your heart rush, that you can't stop thinking about even if you try to because you're mad at her. The one you'll forgive anything... And, people will probably complain that I'll say this, but also marry the woman you are sexually compatible with, sex drive, open or closed-mindedness, etc. Without sex it's just a very close friendship and room-mate. Physical attraction is only important for the beginning until you develop deeper feelings, but it has to be there too.

Having dated a lot in my younger years (my first marriage was at age 33), I can tell you from very personal experience, NO TWO WOMEN are the same. I've dated mostly American women, but also one from Peru, one from Spain, and a previous Pinay. All were already in the U.S. and legal status. This is the first relationship I ever had from afar and didn't intend it to ever happen, it just happened. We started out friends from a social networking site, very casual. I always liked talking to her, joking and laughing and I just always wanted to talk to her more and more. We found we had more and more and more in common and I just became more and more convinced this could really turn into something very great.

The Pinay I dated before is COMPLETELY different from my fiancee. Like cast from completely different molds. To find anything they had in common besides hair color and gender would be very difficult.

Your topic is the same as "who's married to a brunette, what do you like or what don't you like". Or, "who's married to a Pisces/ Aries/ Sagitarrius and how is that going for you" (actually that group might have more in common than the 45 MILLION or so women you just lumped together), or who's married to a woman under 5'5" and how's her cooking? OUTSTANDING!

Heres my honest answer (Husband here)....( Wifey is on my side...)

1. Why do you decide a filipina sweetheart was the perfect girl for you? (aside from obvious reasons, such as beauty and family oriented)

I didn't decide by myself, its GOD who decides for me.Its HIS Will for us..

2. If you've been married a while now, how's things going? Are you happy with each other?

Its awesome...We are very much happy with each other..altho life or our relationships sometimes is like a roller

coaster. Just be strong and don't forget to ask guidance and help from HIM...

3. Are there things you wish you could change?

Yes, I wish I could change the TIME..if only I could make it perfect for us..

4. If you had this to do all over again, would you?

Yes for sure, I would..

5. Any tips for a future newlywed?

Lots and lots of patience...and learn to understand each other's customs, ways, don'ts and do's and spend enough

quality time with your spouse...Be the BEST you can for each other...

Anyway, it's now my turn to answer.

My husband has traveled to many countries but it took him 37 years to find me. He has never been married and has no kids.

No two Filipinas are identical. It's certainly not the specific category of being with a Filipina that he was after. There is just this inexplicable connection that we have.

As for tips about marriage, you can share so many things with each other. If you have a hobbies, teach it to her (SCUBA diving, snorkeling, camping, etc.) so you can do these things together.

LOL, that might be true, but not where I go get my nails done at a spa owned by Phillipinos her in our neighbourhood, the wife treats her husband like her little b1tch, it's the most entertaining part of visiting that salon, they speak in their language but I'm so nosy I always ask the manicurist to translate, hillarious !!! demanding: "get the hot towel" shaking her head: "stupid man" rolling her eyes: "number 10, not 20, stupid man" maybe it's an exception but this guy sure as hell aint being treated like a king, I feel sorry for him!!

Hard to be mad at someone who is spoiling you rotten. And if you're spoiling her rotten she'll keep doing it back and on and on.

I can say the one thing I learned from my previous failed marriage is never take each other for granted. It's a new choice everyday and everyday you need to treat her like you would in the first couple months, or before you know it, it's gone. If you live with the assumption she's (or he's) always going to be there no matter how little effort you put into it, you'll lose your happy life and happy wife.
