I understand that all K-3 applications go to NBC/MSC. However, when I called USCIS today, the lady I spoke to said that because my I-129F NOA1 receipt number begins with "WAC", it is with the CSC.

Does this sound right?

TracyLuis,

K3 applications go to US consulates overseas.

I-129f petitions for a spouse go to the NBC, but if the Receipt Number starts with WAC then sure enough it has been passed on to the CSC. The USCIS has been transferring petitions among the SCs in an attempt to better utilize resources and speed up processing.

Usually, K-3 receipt number starts with MSC, maybe the USCIS lady thought it was a K-1 case.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

My receipt number has always started with "WAC", since I received my NOA1 on 05/02. But the application was an I-129F for spouse (K-3). I'm really confused now :(

TracyLuis,

To what address was the I-129f petition sent? The timeline in your profile is interesting - some things have happened that you haven't related here in this thread - and let's recognize that things are pretty hectic at the USCIS these days.

At the same time I received the NOA1 for my I-129F application, I also received a letter stating that my application was transferred to: US INS, PO Box 7216, Chicago IL 60680-7216. The lawyer intially sent the application to the Texas Service Center, so I assumed it was transferred appropriately.

Now, I don't know. The I-129F instructions say that all spouse applications should be sent to the same address as listed above, except PO Box 7218 (rather than 7216).

I distinctly remember, however, an email at the beginning of my K-3 journey saying that Missouri had my case. The email was only there very briefly, however, and I can't help but wonder if I am just losing my mind......

(I think I'm overanalyzing what the USCIS rep told me today)
