How long is too long to wait

Hello,

I need help. I met this girl back in 2001 we dated for a year. She went back to the Philippines and I went back to America. After phone calls and letters we met up again a few more time. I went over to the Philippines and met her family. I wanted her to get a divorce from her husband whom she has not seen since before she met me. We hired a lawyer and paid the money (2,000 US) and he said that it would take a year. That was back in 07......

Do we have any recourse against the lawyer?

Other people said that it only took them 6 months to a year....

Now the lawyer is saying it takes 5 years. Some have suggested bribing, but that is not for me.

i thought getting a divorce is not that long...?????... eh matagal pa un sa process ng annulment ah...

hmmm an annulment shouldnt take that long...but i guess it depends on the area and lawyer. You would probably need to contact the lawyer in person...but to do it faster...of course taht means more money....but you did pay a lot
