I love all people I think charity is awesome, if you are able to give and want to give then do, but when it's over the top and to the detriment of an entire nation it needs to stop so that these people can learn how to be self-reliant again and not just sit back relax and wait for free handouts.

Sure, free stuff can be counterproductive. I don't believe anyone's denying that. But understand that in the context of this thread, we're talking about charity that will essentially help a nation that is on its knees get back on its feet. We're talking about pulling people out of the rubble, treating trauma patients, feeding the hungry. This isn't a case of a country full of people sitting on their butts waiting for a handout.

But understand that in the context of this thread, we're talking about charity that will essentially help a nation that is on its knees get back on its feet. I agree, I'm famous for taking threads off topic, of course they need help right now. Hopefully, maybe 5 years from now when they've rebuilt and are a prosperous country and the USA is hit by a natural disaster the USA can expect some aid from Haiti.
