After the Immigration Office took my envelopes that had our medical papers in, I got nothing back from them, only our passports with the I-94 card in. I have my x-ray picture in my suitcase but what do I do now, am I suppose to have those papers back or what, I'm really worried just incase when we have an interview, the officer might ask for them.

The envelope that you give to the Immigration Officer at your POE is kept and the contents of the envelope are put with the rest of your file. You do not get anything back from them.

When it comes time for the AOS process, you will need to have a Vaccination Supplement prepared by a Civil Surgeon here in the U.S. If you have a copy of your Vaccination Worksheet from your K-1 Visa medical exam, the Civil Surgeon can just copy the information from the worksheet onto the Supplement for you. We paid $35.00 to have this done, but no other vaccinations were required or else the fee would have been higher.

As long as your medical exam for your K-1 visa was less than one year from the date you send in your AOS application, you will not require another medical exam here in the U.S. You will just require the Vaccination Supplement.

Hope this answers your question.

Good luck and best wishes.

Yes it does thanks. I've already got the civil surgeon part sorted out. It's $40 for me to have a blood test to see if I am immune to chicken pox and see whether I need the injection. But my kids have already had it so I haven't caught it from them.

I only have my record of vaccinations from the local doctor that we had done and the kids have got their red health books that their vaccinations was marked down in. My medical was in November. Got married just under two weeks ago.

Hi :)

I heard stories, that the doctors in the US try to tell you, you need a whole new Medical. I looked at the I-693 and it has alot of stuff listed I´m supposed to get checked for, such as HIV. I dont have any proofs from Germany from my K1 process, that i dont have HIV! I think that information is in the brown envelope. How do i proof the american doctor, that i dont have it? Do I need to do tests again?

Is it the I-693 or is there any other form number for that Vaccination Supplement so iI tell the doctor exactly what I need incase he doesnt know? Im just really worried they wont know what im talking about and tell me I need everything done again.

Thank You, JellyBean :)

Do you realize I have answered your question twice already in the other forum (you asked pretty much the same in two different threads there)....? ;)

Therefore here's the short version:

You do NOT need another medical if you came in with a K-1 visa and filed for AOS within one year of your K-1 medical. (So stop looking at the I-693 form and worrying about it :D )

You WILL need the vaccination supplement, form I-693a. You do NOT need to take the blank form to the doctor, they have it.

Some US doctors WILL try to sell you the complete medical.....just call around beforehand until you find one who will just fill out the supplement. Prices differ, as well, so comparing might save you some money.

You wrote in the other thread that you DO have the form DS-3025 which the German doctor was supposed to hand over? Then filling out the supplement shouldn't be a problem at all :)

Last, it IS correct that you do NOT have any other medical "proof" (e.g. for not having HIV, etc.) We all don't. Your medical file is inside the brown envelope which you hand over at the PoE.

Alles klar...? :D

Gruss,

CW
