I have my birth certificate from my country, they do not offer a "long form" just a nomral 8*11 but it has my parents name on the fron and all the birth info and on the back the stamps of approval. Will that be fine since it's not the "long form"? And if it is what do you bring to the interview, the original or a photocopy? Thanks :thumbs:

I believe birth certificates differ in every country - as long as it's "official" / "certified", there shouldn't be a problem. I think they only require a photocopy but you can bring the original just in case :)

I'd bring the original; they won't keep it or anything, but it does provide a certain level of authenticity that the consul is looking for. If they question your birth certificate, tell them that your country only provides that type of certificate: they'll look it up in the State Department country database and it should match what you're telling them, and if so, you'll be fine.

Hey guys, I just had a small question regarding the birth certificate. What do the CO's at the interview look for in the birth certificate? I just noticed that my mother's name is misspelled in the certificate. Will that be a problem? I can provide them with copies of the biographic information pages from my passport. I hope someone can help me out with it !!!
