My husband's passport was stamped on the back of his I-94 with a red stamp stating "work authorization" that expires after 3 months. Is this valid along with his social security card that states "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH HOMELAND SECURITY AUTHORIZATION"? Are the officers at the POE considered HLS, and doesn't that stamp have some validity? It must...

On to the next stretch... AOS, EAD filed... wish us good luck:)

JFK is the last POE to do this for K-1, it is done primarily to make it easier to get a SSN.

Note, per form I-9 in order to be considered work authorized to work the EAD now needs to be a PHOTO EAD card.

Apply for EAD when adjusting status by filing an I-765 along with I-485.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

At least it helps you getting a SSN.

I got my SSN about 1 week after my entry and it arrived 1 week later.... ^^ Always good to get it now, there's no fee..
