I am counting that my K-1 interview will be around end of July, early August 2010, by the time I will be abroad in a 17 days trip. Has anyone know if they schedule an interview date for me and I can't attend if they will reschedule it?

Please help!!

Different embassies may be different. We rescheduled our interview date last month easily. My fiance wrote to the embassy and explained that he couldn't attend due to some works and asked them to reschedule it. They answered our email the day after and informed a new date.

I'm not sure how other embassies work but in the Philippines (Manila), the embassy sends you a letter saying that your petition has been approved and you are eligible for a visa interview. Then you are the one who has to call and schedule the interview. The Visa Information Service will give you the available interview dates (when possible) and you may be able to choose the date that is most convenient for you. If you're unable to attend, you can call again and ask to reschedule but I think you have to call 1 or 2 days before your scheduled interview.

When your interview has been schedule and if you are unable to attend, you can contact the embassy to re-schedule. But, be sure your next date would follow their current calendar as they schedule appointments a couple of months in advance.

After your application is forwarded to Rio, you can contact them to schedule your interview. You can skip package 3 and 4. Embassy will provide you with the date and work everything from there arranging as necessary.. Good luck..
