Varicella vaccine requirements

Daisy is 2 weeks shy of her 35th birthday. She had some vaccinations at St. Lukes in Manila, and she is scheduled for 2 more vaccinations on Feb 1 here in Wisconsin, one of which is Tdap, and the other is varicella. She did have chickenpox when she was young. She will be going to a local civil surgeon on Feb 2nd to have her DS3025 transcribed to the I-693 for $40.

Two questions:

1. Is the varicella vaccine generally required for AOS?

2. Is the varicella vaccine still required if you had chickenpox at an early age, and if not, how would you prove it?

Thanks, Lane and Daisy

If I'm not mistaken, the varicella vaccine is a requirement. But if she already had chicken pox, she doesn't need to be vaccinated with Varicella vaccine. Just inform the CS that she had chicken pox already. On my case, I didn't need it since I had varicella history/chicken pox already. I just showed the scar to prove it.

The panel physician in my husband's home country wrote VH (varicella history) on his form, so he didn't have to have the shot.

Yes - it is required.

They can do a test to see if she needs the shot (takes 2-3 days for the result) - have them do that.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
