OOPs! Predisone works but screws up your liver to much after awhile.

I did just start working with my hands a LOT more recently. I do heavy duty wood carving for part of my income. LOTS of vibration in right hand.

I hate to but guess I should cut back from what NickD said.

I have numb hands from time to time, though I do not have carpal tunnel syndrome (have had the nerve test), instead, I have tendinitis. Do you do anything repetitive (aside from whacking off)?

Hey no one should be giving med advice here unless they are an MD, unless they want to take liability, and responsibility for Dakine's medical future. It could be a serious problem.

I'm an LMT, I'm not a doctor but run into these problems often in a clinic setting. This could be due to a nerve impingement or a vascular impingement. The only way to be sure is to go to the doctor.

Is the pain a numbness or like pins & needles? Or is it bright like hitting your funny bone?

How would you describe it.

On a joking note, numb hands are not such a bad thing you can always give yourself "The stranger"

I'm just offering advice based on my own experiences so he can do research to figure out his own symptoms and possible solutions/treatments.

Wasn't referring to you love.

I was speaking to ppl suggesting prednisone or b-12 injections.

After reading more about the cervical disc herniation(s) I would hazard to guess it is an impingement in the cervical plexus. Again I am not a doctor and I'm not prognosticating.

Dakine go to an osteopath or an orthopedist.

Not a doctor either, three of my kids are, but that doesn't make me an expert. Do know that whacking off does cause skin acne and so does prednisone, but the latter requires a prescription unless you live in Mexico or Venezuela. Sure in the hell can't get it here. Doctors are kind of worthless without all their test equipment, then interpreting the results, some are far better than others.

Certainly enough teasing, least I think it's teasing about whacking off, but seems like ones hands won't take the beating as much as other related body parts. But not my problem either, difficult enough to keep up with my wife's needs.

I get both the tingling and numbness, numbness is predominate in my right index finger, the tingling in my ring finger that doesn't wear a ring on the right hand. Also got it in the left hand, but that heals quickly after a day or two from really working it hard like pulling a transmission, shoveling 16,000 pounds of rocks, or that electrical work I was doing for my kids. Also a lot of plumbing and carpentry.

If you really want to feel pain, get hit riding a motorcycle at 55 mph, go flying 40 feet and having your skin torn off sliding on an asphalt stone embedded road. Shocks are nothing to me since I have developed many 40KV ignition systems. Just make sure the current path is not through your heart. Don't get that either because those shocks can be used to either stop or start your heart.

I can still type, greatest difficult I have is changing a watch battery with those very tiny screws, like seven in my watch, but seem to manage. Just don't have the feel on my index finger tip. Darn careful when I use my bench or radial saw, I like my fingers, my most important tools. Putting off changing the timing belt in my Supra until I get this surgery done, again to bad when you get older, the healing process takes longer, need those illegal growth hormone pills, may start hanging around with high school kids. They know where to get all that stuff.

I'm having a heck of a time being woken up with aching numb hands during the night. Anyone else? Any solutions?

Carpo?

I am going to recommend you see a doctor. This symtom could be something more or less benign, like carpal tunnel syndrome, or could be something more serious and should rule out more serious.

I was recently having some "heavy feeling" in my legs and BACK pain. I finally got around to going to the doctor after 3 weeks of this and found out I had had a serious (not to use the word "massive") heart attack and ended up having quadruple bypass surgey post haste and the doctors still don't know how I was walking around for three weeks without treatment (and never had classic heart attack symptoms) Get yourself checked out, OK? No more messing around for me and I urge anyone to see a doctor regularly, which I was not.
