Hey everyone,

So yesterday my K1 visa application was approved and i received my NOA2, im hoping you can all give me some advice on the following questions.

Once you all received your NOA2's how much longer did it take until you actually arrived in the US?

I only ask so i can look at flights around a time i might possibly arrive.

If im eventually successful with my interview and my visa is granted;

Is it okay to purchase a one way ticket or do i still need to purchase a return ticket? The one way ticket is far more expensive than a return so i would much prefer to buy a return if possible.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Rhys

Hey there,

Well, First of all, Congratulations on your NOA 2. It would be nice if you gave us some information on when you filed your initial petition. Secondly, I wouldn't suggest you get the tickets right now because the REAL PROCESS has only begun. What you have gone through is just a small approval but the coming stages are bigger. You need gather more documents such as POLICE CERTIFICATES. MEDICAL CERTIFICATES and more. You have to present yourself for the Interview and from there your fate will be decided. You can be optimistic about the outcome but there is always another side. You may or maynot be approved ( I am sorry if i hurt you ) and that is the truth.

So if you get approved, The visa stamping would take about 1 week and if you booked the ticket in anticipation of it, Then you are the luckiest person. But if your visa is denied, Then you have lots of problems. Your visa will be sent back and you have to appeal which will suck more time. By that time, If you had already booked a ticket you would want to cancel it by paying an extra cancellation fee ( Which is unwanted expense ).

After you get the visa, Organise your paperworks for the POE and if all is perfect you will be admitted into the US and thus you just need a one way ticke.

Hope i was clear enough. GoodLuck

Premature to be thinking of booking a flight now. The petition has been approved buy now the visa has to be approved. I know you are excited and anxious to be reunited but just bite the bullet and wait a little longer. If you haven't already start making sure you have everything ready to submit to the consulate.

Congrats.

My suggestion is to focus your energy in getting all the consulate required documents in order for the next stages.

All the NOA2 is saying is that your I-129f petition was approved by USCIS. The NVC will have to do their checks and balances and if everything is in order it's forwarded off to the consulate where the beneficiary will be applying.

Give it a week or so, then call the NVC to get your new case number that you can use to track it's status from there.

Check our Timeline

Booking a flight isn't supposedly your concern right now. It's quite early to think about it. Even if your case isn't placed under AP in the NVC, your Embassy would give you available dates for the interview and there's no telling about that right now.

Anyway, I hope things do work fast for you. In the meantime, get your documents ready for the Consulate.

Hakuna matata.

God bless us all.

Our visa interview was approved (pink slip) on Th. the 14th and I am still not buying a flight until the visa is physically in my fiance's hand.

APs/ holds/ etc. can happen at any point in this process and completely change the timeline. It can happen at the NVC, it can happen at the embassy.

Focus on gathering all required documentation/ clearances for your interview, and focus on how happy you are to be past one of the longer steps.

hi. I am a US citizen and my petition for fiance visa on behalf of my iranian fiance was approved and sent to Ankara,Turkey. The online information is very confusing, specially for iranian citizens.Do i or my fiance need to go to Turkey to mail documents via ups or give embassy our documents? do we need to have an appoitnment first? does going in person help to speed things up.In the instruction ankara have sent me states that mail documents from Ankara or USA via UPS for processing K-1 file and interview at the same time? what does that mean?then it says call for appitnment ,then it says after we get all of your documents,we will send you notice for interview.I am totally lost. someone help please that have personal exprience or sepecific information about iranian citizens k1 visa fro ankara. thanks.
