My fiancee is coming from South Africa. She will be visiting me for several months on her B2 visa while the K1 petition is in process. When the petition is approved will she be given a specific date for her interview and if she is given a specific date can she delay the interview by several weeks if she needs time to return to South Africa?

Yes, she'll be given an interview date in advance. Yes, she can delay it but may not be given the date she wants or anytime near it. Each US entry is at the discretion of the CBP officer at the port of entry, so I would adjust your thinking to "may be visiting" instead of "will be". Questions about visiting during the process are the most FAQ, so do some reading.

Thanks for the info. I am new to the site ... can you suggest how to find topics on visits during the K1 process? My fiancee is here now and she has a B2 visa that is good until August but she may return to South Africa for a short while and then reenter on the B2 visa in April. She has traveled extensively to the US (over 30 times) so she is very good at handling the immigration officials.

Thanks again
