I definitely will tell him to have his brown envelope out. I have provided him with a step by step process cause Hartsfield is troublesome and confusing enough... he has to get on the train to get to baggage claims, poe thang, I almost want to have a sign made up for him to wear so he arrives where he needs to. Awww...my baby is so special!

Just wear something gold so he sees you!!!

Ok, Time for some Jamaica education....

Can anyone give me a summary of "spots".

I like the beach... a cabin on the beach sounds great to me.

Louis likes quiet... but there has to be a nice local bar ... local hangout.

Where is it the least touristy?

Hi Tre whats good mama? Dillion, how is your dad doing?

Hey MrsTee...he is maintaining...had a pretty bad scare last week. My parents had to go Phoenix last week to take my Dad to the Mayo Clinic because that is where the liver transplant will take place. It was a follow up visit to one that he had there in September. Anyways the trip down was very hard on him and he got car sick. He was very naucious since then durning his appointments and everything. On Thursday they were to drive back to Vegas and all night I pretty much cried because I knew he wouldn't make it on the trip back. So on Thursday morning I called my Mom and she said he is just sitting on the side of the bed he will not move, he will not let me help him put on his clothes and he is being very mean. So I said ask if he wants to talk to me and he is always so excited to talk to me. So she asked and he said no. So I said Mom call the hospital there is something wrong. So about an hour later my brother calls and said that they called the ambulance and are taking him to the hospital his mind isn't there. He was yelling at the paramedics to not touch him and to leave him alone. With his failing liver ammonia builds up and goes to his brain and when that happens it causes dementia. Well he couldn't keep his medicine down for a couple of days that helps clear the ammonia out so that is why it built up. He was almost on the otherside so thank GOD she called the ambulance. He is down to 120lbs and very weak but I am so happy that they made it home. The Mayo Clinic said that there are no livers available and he is past the age cut off for a live liver donation but his doctors are going to go before the board to see if they will make an exception. I said I would check to see if I am a match and hopefully they approve him before it is too late. They take 60% of the liver from the live donor but the live donor's liver grows back in just a few weeks.

Sus and Nat... do you have hotel names?

Yup -

Mariners - listed on Hotels.com as Negril Beach club resort - studios are usually around $40 - $50 a night - 2 beds, kitchen - where I usually stay on the beach

Hidden Paradise - http://www.hidden-paradise.com/

Seawind resort - http://www.seawindresortjamaica.com/

Yellowbird - http://www.theyellowbird.com/

Moms place http://www.momsplacenegril.com/

I have more if you want them - most give a better rate if you email them (except Mariners, always do the best on hotels.com or skyauction for them)

For the money, I think your best bet would be Negril - lots of little spots up and down the beach for little bars and live music, great spots for inexpensive food, easy to get around without a car, very laid back -

Least touristy, I would say Port Antonio or Treasure beach - but they are both a haul to get to from the airport -

 I'm actually the beneficiary. But you know how we women love taking charge and be in the know :jest:

Unfortunately, my SO will not be attending the interview because he just started a new job a couple of moths ago, so he's using the little vacation time that he has to fly back with me, and also to spend a few days with me after my arrival and our wedding.

"I'm a big girl he says"

Hey Tam, how exciting! are you nervous about the interview?

That's great. I've heard lots of good news from Haiti so far. I spoke to my co-worker's mother yesterday who is trying to leave Haiti. It was so sad listening to her stories. She is running out of food and people are charging $2 per egg and $15 per gallon for gas...sad.

Hey Shem ((( waving))) I know it's such a shame but I was waiting for it.......

Yes, it a long process with some Caribbean countries. I've heard even longer in Jamaica. They flew 100 orphans to the Netherlands...wonder what's going to happen to them??

I saw another touching story where a Texas lady who was also in the process of adopting 3 girls from Haiti. She flew back two days ago to get her kids. Their house was flatten but the kids refused to leave knowing their mother would rescue them. It was pitch black when she finally arrived and called out their names and the girls emerged...I lost it. They are now resting in Florida.

This is so heartwarming, I stopped watching everything it was such mixed emotions but I am so happy to hear this Praise God!

It's horrendous - We just had a situation in my state over the weekend that sickens me - A man was arrested on a domestic violence charge on Sat night (his 3rd) - he was released on bail around 4am, went home and shot and killed his wife then himself - two children age 7 and an infant in the house - Why the hell was he let out of jail?

So now my question is what is the since in reporting domestic abuse if no one is going to do anything about it. We had a situation like that here where a 22 yr old was dating a 40 yr old man and he was in jail but he told her if he found out about her with anyone he would kill her. She told authorities that prior to his release that he was threatening her and he had a record of domestic abuse with her. When he got out he went to her house and stabbed her multiply times. Her boyfriend at the time jumped his behind out the window. He didn’t try and defend her or anything. I was like damn he couldn’t run to the kitchen and grab a frying pan or something? She leaves behind I think two small children.

Sus and Nat... do you have hotel names?

In Negril:

I've stayed at Fun Holiday 5 times & like it mainly for the location & wifi signal. Plus the people are friendly, but that may be due to the # of times I stayed there within a short period. My second time staying there, the receptionist not only remembered me, but also knew that my cousin had stayed there a few months ago & asked about her. I'm always impressed by people with good memories.

I stayed at Hidden Paradise 1 time. It's a bit cheaper, but across the street from the beach.

I stayed at Journee's place 1 time. It was closer to Steven's place and West End, but is farther from the beach/Alfred's/Jungle. I did get lots of exercise walking up/down the hill, which I appreciated (and need, lol).

I stayed at Point Village my first 3 trips (November 07 - July 08). It's an all-inclusive & pretty cheap, esp when you consider all the drinks included. I hear it's gone downhill quite a bit since I stayed there, though.

In Montego Bay:

I stayed at Hotel Gloriana twice. It's not on the beach, but is VERY close to the airport & has good prices. My last two trips, I spent my final night there to avoid a long drive to the airport the day of my flight.
