I have a question and was hoping someone could answer and tell me where I might be able to find the right answer... Maybe 1luv...

If you are flying from, lets say St Lucia, and going to Toronto Canada, and there is a stop in the US ... do you need a US Visa?

Louis has a friend back home whose husband was beating her badly and she left to go to Canada and now wants to buy a ticket for her teenage some to come up to Canada but the flight goes through ATL. Kinda sucks if he needs a visa!!!

Thanks for anyone's input!

Nat - The same thing is happening to us with the RGD and Vaughn's BC. I forget when I appled and paid, but I've given up. I sent emails but they never answered me. We finally just had Vaughn's dad go down and get some and mail them to us. It's a shame they are just taking our money though.

I forgot this was a holiday weekend and was wondering why there were only 3 new pages. Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend.

That is awful! Yes, he will need a transit visa or a C1 - here is the info from the Canadian embassy -

!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT! That's unacceptable!! I'm about to call.

I don't blame you. Mind mentioning our name when you call?!?! J/K

Cat- I just went through this. We want to take Vaughn's sister to Nassau for her graduation gift and most all of the flights connect through Miami. I just thought it wouldn't be a problem as long as she didn't leave the airport, but then I started to think what would stop someone (a Jamaican in this case) from booking that flight and then just walking out of the airport? I don't know why someone would want to be here illegally like that, but I figured the US would be worried about this and put measures in to prevent it, which they did. I ended up calling AA and they confirmed what Sus already said..indeed a transit visa is needed. I asked out to go about that and she said they would have to go to the US embassy in JA. I figured that was a waste of time so we found her a flight straight to Nassau. I'm sorry to hear about Luis's friend. Glad she got away and is now trying to get her son out too.

I think I wanted to respond to someone else, but I don't remember. My husband just had been making us flaming Bob Marleys.

Hope everyone has a great, short, work week!

Good Morning...

Thanks for the info ladies. This is such a pain. The Air Canada flight is over $100 more than a Delta flight AND for him to get to the EMbassy he has to go to Barbados... Oh What a pain!!!

Hope you all had a nice weekend. I took Monday off, Tierra had no school. I got some cleaning and laundry done. We had a bit of a snowstorm!

Morning all - feels like a Mon :( Classes start today - got to work and printed off my reading articles - over 100 pg in the first week, plus chapters in the books! :o

Honey, I have been the same since I got back from JA - I have such a sinus infection, I am now on 4000mg of amoxicillin! I think it was the cooler temps / wind / change in weather that got me this trip -
