Hey Nat, hey philly wha gwaan?

Nothing much. About to go to this monthly poetry/music night (832 Coffeehouse) where they serve home made cookies, coffee, & tea... all for $0! My friends and I go mostly for the cookies, but the entire event is nice. I would even go if they didn't provide food.

Meanwhile, taking online Microsoft Project training courses.

Well today was our big day and we were approved! Excited doesn't even begin to describe the feeling!! Everything went very smooth. 7:30 appointment, went thru the document check-in by 7:45 and were out the door by 8:15!

Asked my hubby when & how we met, when we were married, if he'd met any of my family. Asked me if I'd met any of his and if they were at the wedding. Asked me how often I come, looked at my passport, and we were done!

Hope all that had interviews today (and upcoming) have similar experiences. My thanks to all for helping us get to this point!

Congrats!!! I was hoping to see you guys there. We got there early as well but I was in a daze! As long as the end result was approved, I'm thankful! Happy for you and your hubby.

Well Steve and I went to the Civil Surgeon today. We only had to pay $35.00 to have them transcribe it. We filled out the top portion of the I-693 and printed his name on a subsequent page. It only took us about 15 minutes for the entire thing. She gave us the sealed envelope (blue) and a receipt for the 35. Another couple came in after us and had to get shots and blood work because her country wouldn't give her a copy of her medical. They are supposed to because at the bottom of the DS-3025 it says Give copy to applicant (which Jamaica doesn't do, but by right they should). Thank God we had everything we needed. Good luck to all who is going through this!

Awesome MrsTee!

Good Morning Ladies, Mexilus and her SO visa was denied because he admitted to using marijuana 2 yrs ago. This is so sad I can imagine she must be so torn up. My heart goes out to her.

Tracey

I'm so sorry to hear this! Mexilus, I sent you a PM before I caught up on the thread!

Morning, Ladies

Last night I fell asleep around 1am. Steven was laying next to me listening to Hitz 92 (We subscribe via jumptv) calling in trying to get on the radio. Why did I wake up an HOUR LATER to hear him in conversation with the DJ. As soon as they got off the phone, the conversation was played on the air. He was SO excited that I didn't even want to tell him that his family/friends might be sleeping at 3am (JA is 1 hr ahead of us) instead of listening to the radio.

Dang, MrsTee. Everybody gotta share ONE buffalo wing?

lol no and they went first! :)

Awesome MrsTee!

Thanks Den's glad you found us in the new thread... what was the surprise Den had for you?

Definitely be prepared! I prepared what my Sweetie refers to as the purple "kick rass" folder!

I had everything organized and had all types of evidence. They only asked for cell phone records, photos, and some e-mails as evidence of our relationship. We got a guy and he was tough...we sat through and saw a lot of folks blue-slipped! When we heard our number called after Den was finger-printed and realized it was the guy as our interviewer...I was like "Ah man" he called us up and we were ready to go. The guy asked me to go and have a seat after we were born sworn in. He basically asked Den a lot questions:

1. When did we meet?

2. Where did we meet?

3. When did we start dating?

4. How do we communicate?

5. How often do we talk?

6. Had he ever been to the U.S.?

I only provided them with a copy of my 2008 W-2 and tax transcript. I had bank letter and copies of check stubs but didn't need to provide them. I made a photo album of all our pictures from the past year and a half and organized them accordingly. The interviewer also asked to see my passport. I asked him if he needed to see more evidence of our relationship but he said "No thanks that won't be necessary". He said, "Mr. Douglas I'm granting you your Visa to the U.S.!" We thanked him like twice and went down to the DHL counter to schedule when Den will go and pick up his Visa. They told him we can start tracking on Wednesday but they told us to expect at least two weeks so that's why I couldn't bring him back with me...I needed to get on back to work cause I feel like I am going to get the not want to work syndrome once Den actually gets here!

Thank you! You guys will be fine. Just claim it and go in there confident and ready! :star:

Girl nothing is quick in Jamaica. We had our interview on Wednesday and they told us at the DHL counter that we can begin tracking the Visa on this upcoming Wednesday. Also, tomorrow is a U.S. holiday, MLK day! Embassy will be closed, so you know the holiday will slow things up, as well. They told us before hand that it will be about two weeks before he can expect to have his Visa in hand! I needed to get on back to work cause I know I will be wanting some days off once Den is actually here and of course, after we're married!

Thanks Den. I have tons of photos and western union receipts, however, i have no phone records as I communicate with my SO using a prepaid phone and we see each other on windows live when at we're home. I only hope that doesn't pose a problem, especially if I'm interviewed by that tough black CO.

I wish you and yours nothing but (L) and happiness

Of course, I had to find you all. It was like 8 days with no VJ...

Denton proposed all over again! He is such a romantic guy...we had a wonderful trip. :luv:

I did cry at the airport today even though I didn't think I would but even though he will be here in a few weeks, its still never easy leaving a piece of you behind. :crying:

Thanks everyone for all the advice, support, prayers, and well wishes. We greatly appreciate it. Please keep it coming!
