I wish I was going to New Orleans! That's one of my bucket list items....NOLA for Mardi Gras!

Me too!

Not us, for one I am sure it is going to be FREEZING! Two we would need to find a sitter for the kids and we are trying to find one for V-Day so we can actually go out and do something together. Finding a sitter is hard these days. Although I would love to go...Mardi Gras in Soulard is the best!!!!

Steve and I will come babysit...

Alright Yardies I am out for the day...going home to see my honey! He said he wants some Golden Coral for dinner tonight...my goal is to get some weight on him by the summer! Likkle more.

Take Steve with you.. instead when we go back to JA they gonna know im happy cause imma be gaining all the weight.. His grandma already called me fat!

I'm good girl trying to stay warm its colder than a witches ####### out there!
It needs to snow harder if they are going to close anything down tomorrow! I found a sitter for Sunday!

Afternoon Yardies!

Congrats Nat!

Don't worry Philly, the name change will be fairly painless. Just make sure you change your SS first or I don't know if your DMV will do it. I had to have my updated SS card as one of the verification docs to update my DL.

You're almost a Valentine baby! Hope you get lots of sun on that day!

That Zoo balloon looks very cool. I'd like to go on a hot air balloon. I'm sure I'd be a mix of terrified & excited!

(F)(L)

I think everyone should visit here at least once. Don't envy me too much though...it is so dang expensive here. It is nice that there is always a lot of activity & culture here. When we have to leave here (since I know we'll never be able to afford a home here) I'll definitely miss many parts of it badly.

I'm sorry Philly. :( I hope this too resolves soon & that your Mom will 'see the light' & get on your side.

 I know you're having a moment but just try to stay relaxed cause your big day is coming soon! And stay on track cause you've been so good & done great...just a little bit longer now!

I agree with your anger because of the principle of the matter. Of course if you're not the one spending the money, a 'little extra' is no big deal but when it's your money, well then no one wants someone else to assume that an increase is going to be okay. He should be thinking on the terms that he has as much responsibility to keep an eye on your funds as you do. I go through similar frustrations with my hubby too.

I feel the same way Ells

MsSheka, congratulations on the interview date! Not far away at all.

Bunz, have you decided upon a date yet?

DensWifey, don't feel bad AT ALL for saying no to your two friends. You have to prioritize, especially now.

KT, I feel you on how the $5 adds up.

---

We had an excellent weekend! I love having Steven as my "running partner."

Friday: FREE t+Lyrics+Beatz urban exibit event. Free entertainment (jazz band, break dancers, DJ Michael Watts), free food, free alcoholic beverages, interesting artwork

Saturday: Semi-Formal dinner & poetry event. We had a delicious meal & got to hear fantastic poetry & singers. I bought my first CD of poetry

Sunday: Superbowl watch party with some of Steven's new friends. I loved that it was upstairs so no need to drive anywhere

Great that you had a good weekend!

I knew you would agree on the $5 adding up...

Mini observation:

I have a friend here at work who works in another department for another agency across the hall from me. She spends the majority of her days organizing cake parties, potlucks & other random stuff that isn't work-related. Well, it is but it isn't *working*. She also spends WAY too much time going from desk to desk & office to office distracting/ annoying/ pestering other people who are trying to get some work done. I believe she thinks it's schmoozing & might help her advance. Her usual work attire consists of tight jeans, 5" heels & blouses that are usually a bit too tight & sometimes her belly hangs out of the bottom. Honest to goodness, I can't recall the last time she has ever worked a full 5 day work week in the years I've known her here. She's either out sick or has some other reason for not being here & I'm certain she doesn't truthfully report her time because there's no way she could earn enough leave to cover all the time she is out & especially at the rate she uses it.

Today she comes in lamenting about the fact that she's been passed over for yet another promotion to supervisor. I want to tell her that you have to have good attendance (for one) & be present at work to be a supervisor. You have to be available to your staff. It really has not occurred to her. It seems it has to whoever does the hiring though. She may not be getting caught for all her time off, but they are obviously aware of it since she can't land a promotion.

hey miss lady hows san francisco treating you

It's alright! Just feeling tired after superbowl festivities yesterday. I'm getting old....I had 3 drinks over the course of 5 hours & was home by 8:00 & can't believe I feel this wiped out!

My Mom informed me this weekend that her & her sister wanted to know when the end of our school semester is so they can start planning accordingly for hubby & I to join them for their annual Vegas trip!
